ive heard alberta is considering a break from the confederation

2019-01-02 23:05:36 UTC

If I can I will, 2015 I was sadly to busy with personal problems to help but I will if I can for sure

2019-01-02 23:07:30 UTC

yeah. there's a lot of talk about that. Alberta has as much oil as the middle east. but Trudeau's selling it for like 17c a barrel and gutting Alberta's economy, just because they are 99.99999% voting right wing.

2019-01-02 23:08:12 UTC

Alberta is basically Canada's Texas.

2019-01-02 23:08:24 UTC

right down to the cowboy hats

2019-01-02 23:10:33 UTC

No joke, the HMCS Calgary has stetsons as part of its uniform

2019-01-02 23:18:58 UTC

2019-01-02 23:19:02 UTC

i didn't know that

2019-01-02 23:19:14 UTC

are they pro british

2019-01-02 23:19:15 UTC

?

2019-01-02 23:20:00 UTC

Alberta? Well they are an English speaking province

2019-01-02 23:21:08 UTC

if the economy wasn't so bad I'd consider moving there.

2019-01-02 23:23:57 UTC

yeah I just wonder what the opinion is towards Britain and the united states

2019-01-02 23:24:01 UTC

are they more socially conservative

2019-01-02 23:24:02 UTC

?

2019-01-02 23:26:46 UTC

I'd say they are. generally they're very patriotic. if Alberta was in the US they'd make great Americans 😄

as it stands, right or left, few Albertans are voting Trudeau.

2019-01-02 23:28:09 UTC

ah right haha

2019-01-02 23:28:28 UTC

looks like they need some conservative Britonic immigrants

2019-01-02 23:28:33 UTC

who are fleeing Europe h

2019-01-02 23:28:34 UTC

haha

2019-01-02 23:29:36 UTC

i listened to an interesting podcast by Brendan o neill

2019-01-02 23:29:41 UTC

special guest tony abbott

2019-01-02 23:29:54 UTC

Interesting chap

2019-01-02 23:32:30 UTC

Culturally Alberta is closer to the US, it was colonized around the same time as the western US, a lot of people crossed back and forth across the boarder in the early days.

Canada is an odd blend of European and American cultures. some areas like the mid west you'd think you're in the US and in Quebec you'd think you were in France.

and Toronto is just a shit hole with nice buildings.

2019-01-02 23:39:08 UTC

what about British columbia

2019-01-02 23:39:37 UTC

unfortunately british membership of the euro twats has meant we have reduced cultural collaboration

2019-01-02 23:46:20 UTC

BC is actually more euro/asian cultural mix nearer the coast. a lot of Chinese nationals whole left Hong Kong after the Chinese retook ownership in the late 90s. And despite Liberal efforts they've generally voted Conservative. and after the 13 year old Chinese Canadian girl was raped and murdered by a recent arrival syrian "refugee" and all Trudeau did was chuckle when asked about it that's not likely going to change.

I've only been to BC a couple times, but from what I've been told most of the province sways back and forth on the political spectrum

2019-01-02 23:48:40 UTC

but I think they'll be voting Blue (our colours are reversed) as BC has also got the middle figure from justin

2019-01-02 23:57:37 UTC

ah right

2019-01-02 23:57:42 UTC

interesting that is

2019-01-02 23:57:47 UTC

i have a relative in BC

2019-01-02 23:57:56 UTC

he claims that they are very anti Quebec

2019-01-02 23:57:58 UTC

over there

2019-01-02 23:59:00 UTC

You don't have to go far in English speaking Canada to find Quebec hate.

2019-01-02 23:59:34 UTC

US has north and south.

Canada has French vs. everyone else

2019-01-03 00:00:35 UTC

the one good thing you can say about Trudeau's father is that he was having none of Quebec's crap when they nearly rebelled in the 70s. He was ready to call the army on his home province

2019-01-03 00:08:42 UTC

really?

2019-01-03 00:09:01 UTC

in my view i think that they should have been given crown dependency status

2019-01-03 00:09:05 UTC

of some sort
