2018-06-26 23:49:36 UTC

Max maybe

2018-06-26 23:50:19 UTC

My dad was in the service in 76-80. He said there was like a 7 ft. Drop into tanks back then.

2018-06-27 00:03:36 UTC

But it has something to do with the seats

2018-06-27 00:05:11 UTC

In a humvee with a helmet on sitting normally my helmet will be pressed against the roof. Its probably similar for tanks. There is only so much room.

2018-06-27 00:37:58 UTC

What was your mos, I think you told me but i forgot

2018-06-27 00:38:09 UTC

@Deleted User Im the one you were talking to G43 about. The other Gun I was looking at was a shield but glocks just feel better to me. I didnt want the walther because it is too new and niche vs the other 2 that are heavily used by police in general. As a note, if you get the G43 get a metal base plate for the mags. It will make the mags heavy enough to drop on their own and give you similar round count to the shield. They come in +1 2 and 3. I have a 1 for carry and 3 for back up.

2018-06-28 04:27:59 UTC

And old guy named Hickok45 has videos on both guns and does a good job reviewing them.

2018-06-28 04:59:46 UTC

It's not for me, it's for my wife. I can carry and even conceal a G19/23, but she's tiny as hell

2018-06-28 05:00:16 UTC

The 23 feels bigger than a 22 in her hands

2018-06-28 05:02:58 UTC

I'd get her a 26 but it's still a wide frame, so that's what led me to the 43. Then I started comparing guns of similar size like the Walther PPS

2018-06-28 05:04:21 UTC

And then there's the Shield like you mentioned

2018-06-28 05:10:18 UTC

Ahh

2018-06-28 05:11:18 UTC

If she is used to glocks I would just stick to glocks

2018-06-28 05:13:43 UTC

As a weird side note the 26?(9mm subcom) can shoot the 43 mags with some difficulty

2018-06-28 15:37:16 UTC

She's not used to anything, she comes from a country where guns are almost universally banned. She got to shoot a Type 56 AK in college though, mandatory military training

2018-06-28 15:59:14 UTC

Does the PPS have a safety?

2018-06-28 16:00:57 UTC

If so I'd stay away from that. The G43 and shield can both go without safety. If she is just using it for self defense it will be easier and safer to just teach her proper handle without a safety.

2018-06-28 16:51:47 UTC

No manual safety, just the same safety features as the others

2018-06-28 16:51:57 UTC

Not a fan of safeties either

2018-06-28 16:53:09 UTC

Im ok with safeties on duty weapons

2018-06-28 16:53:41 UTC

But for self defense not so much. Im not mi dful enough to be that alert all the time

2018-06-28 16:54:01 UTC

IDF/Israeli police carry with an empty chamber but they train extensively to mitigate that.
