By your own logic, if Anime weebs got rid of cosplayers, they would also be socially accepted. In fact, that means Anime is just as degenerate as the furry fandom.

However, things like Anthrocon keep on going along pretty well and actually tend to not bring much of any trouble. In fact, in a twist of irony, crime is generally lower during the weekend of Anthrocon in Pittsburgh.
Furries, in general, have an abnormally bad rep for the actual trouble they cause. If anything, furries are tamer than something like K-Pop or Anime weebs.
