It isn’t the same.
"I don't care what the differences are, I'll just restate my assertion"
I'm staying on point.
No, you're just ignoring incoming information
Are countries in europe different then poppy?
The basis for the United States is not a system of mob rule
I know how and why the votes are counted the way they are in the US.
It is, in fact, designed exactly against that
Then you know that it's not the same thing, and you're just being obtuse
The point behind an interview is to get the best person for the job
The point behind the US system is to elect leadership based on State representatives
Affirmative action undermines the primary goal of hiring
The electoral college secures the primary goal of the US system
In my country one persons vote is counted the same as any ohters. Unlike a black person with the same grades as another when it comes to applying to uni.
That's because you live in one state. The US is many states
@Beemann YOu are not explaining why the two thing are differnet. YOu are just telling me why you like one of them.
No, you're just being obtuse
You live in one state, when you join up with other states (say for the EU) each state sends a representative
The notion that you ought to enter a union where you will be deliberately underrepresented is silly
Affirmative action tkaes into account where/who/what you are when considering what you are worth. Tell me how the ecetoral collage is different.
Ergo job interviews are all just affirmative action
i'm not saying it's worng!!!!!!!
No, you're overly broadening affirmative action to the point of uselessness
???

k
It's like if I said I'm running a marathon right now, because a marathon is going from A to B, and B is far away
But I'm in a car
All interviews take into account who/what/where you are
*all of them*
Who do you need to be? Someone who works well with others, fits with the company
What do you need to be? Someone trained to do the job to a sufficient level, or who can learn quickly enough
Where do you have to be? Close enough to get to work
All job interviews are performed on the basis of discrimination. Discriminating between candidates is the *point*
What about entrence to collage?
Affirmative action is discrimination based on arbitrary characteristics *specifically*, with the goal of achieving quotas
Same shit my dude
@IT's only worng when it's being used in a way I don;t liike.@
Even without affirmative action
Is this person doing well in school?
Do they have money?
Can they get here?
No, lol, you just don't seem to know what Affirmative Action actually is
Or why people are opposed to it
I didn't argue that it is worng or right, where it helps or not.
All admission is discrimination. Affirmative action is not merely discrimination
