i was born to late but was taught all about it in school.
which boiled down to "Russia hates the US and we hate them. and McCarthy was probably not the best."
german government released a brochure for kindergardens
to fight "wrong opinions" of parents and kids, since the right parties in germany get so many voters nowadays
I always get confused over when it's America's job to police the entire world and save them from oppression, and when American intervention would be modern day colonialism.
@mer.at The "right fright" is really appaling in Germany right now...
they seem to want to go full commie here
I never implicated Trump for our failure to live up to the declaration. I'm not even certain we're wrong since I'm not sure we should go to war over Ukraine. I'm saying we never should have made the commitment.
Watch the left denigrate Trump for talking to Putin with the goal of *avoiding war*.
Obama correctly realized it would be suicide for us to become militarily involved in Ukraine. We can form a decent defensive line with eastern Europe (Baltics notwithstanding) and we have tripwire troops there and a clear treaty agreement with NATO. Not the case with Ukraine.
Economic sanctions were employed by Europe and the rest of the world including the US in 2014. We need to clamp that more even if it's inconvenient to us (ie gas and oil).
Tell that to Germany and France.
Oh, sanctioning gas and oil is not inconvenient to you
Europe might have a different opinion though
Who, oddly enough, are trying to convince their citizens that they don't need the US and can't depend on them.
Effective sanctions against Russian oil will raise oil prices. That's inconvenient to me as a consumer although not as a shareholder in oil companies.
```Tell that to Germany and France.```
Germany + France going to war with Russia and loosing is actually the best that can happen for us right now.
because the Russians will probably get rid of the Problems we have right now.
Do we really want a new Russian Empire?
no but Germany + France are fucked right now, there is little that can be done without "radical intervention".
"We" in this context meaning the US, correct? Because I don't think the EU has any say in the matter given the perilous state of their militaries.
We = Europe
but yeah, a World War would also get rid of the Problems in the US.
though most of us will probably die...
A world war would probably weaken the US internally.
'Never let a crisis go to waste'
Problem is: Russia is the wrong enemy.
A world war could be enough to get rid of all the soy boys and the liberal bullshit.
though its not something I want, especially not against russia.
Soyboys wouldn't be fighting.
They would be salivating for draft riots.
They might have to -> the draft
Yeah, that doesn't work the way you think it does. The draft is ultimately what toppled Czarist Russia.
And I really don't want to be put in command of a bunch of i-gen dickheads.
`because the Russians will probably get rid of the Problems we have right now.`
And bring you a whole lot of other problems you aren't even thinking of right now.
This former talking point of /pol/ doesn't make a lot of sense
The last time the US had a draft was Vietnam, and that was amazing for the far left.
They've never been so strong as they were then.
A draft is the last thing you want. There's nothing positive about conscription at all.
The troops you get are shit, and it's a gift to dissidents.
Eh, it tends to force manchildren to grow up though
