The Japanese take on it

2018-12-08 19:06:11 UTC

never thought i'd hear someone with a japanese accent overlaid with what seems to be a french accent speaking in english.

@Exiled Sentinel any other notable incidents from that Andrew weisman guy?

2018-12-08 19:17:18 UTC

Yes @caykoh .
Here’s another example. He was involved with prosecuting a mob family. He hid evidence from the defense, and was reprimanded by the judge. If you read the media articles sucking him off, even they admit he is hyper aggressive and uses “ creative legal theories” . That’s why it’s not surprising that he invoked The Logan Act. He has no honor or sense or right and wrong. Just the goal of complete destroying his targets by any means necessary.

This isn’t related to Weissman, but this isn’t the first time the FBI let a known killer keep working just because he was an informant. Check this out. Interestingly Mueller is involved in this.

Nothing short of him stepping down will do I suspect

To those who think women don't want to be placed in danger for work or in defense of their nation

2018-12-08 23:24:33 UTC

<https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/apr/05/navy-faces-health-issues-for-women-in-submarines/>
`A 1997 study by the Navy Personnel Research and Development Center found female sailors often forgot to take birth-control pills and experienced more unwanted pregnancies and higher abortion rates than shore-based women.`

2018-12-08 23:24:48 UTC

Wait, what? Japanese warship?

2018-12-08 23:25:00 UTC

I thought they didn't have an army anymore?

2018-12-08 23:25:14 UTC

'self defense force'

2018-12-08 23:25:27 UTC

Japan has a pretty massive military

2018-12-08 23:25:53 UTC

Also, why call it the SDF when JDF works just fine?

2018-12-08 23:26:09 UTC

Constitutional fiction

2018-12-08 23:26:14 UTC

Would it be too similar to the JTF-2 of Canada?

2018-12-08 23:27:20 UTC

Anyway, my point is to show even in a country not in North America or Europe is still seeing success with such changes

2018-12-08 23:27:56 UTC

Japan's rolling in dough, man.

2018-12-08 23:28:01 UTC

They can't recruit enough young people. Turning to women makes more sense for a military than going with mercenaries.

2018-12-08 23:28:11 UTC

Their anime industry is worth $19B USD.

2018-12-08 23:28:45 UTC

That's pretty damn successful.

2018-12-08 23:31:13 UTC

@DrYuriMom Japan does not engage in any form of combat. There is no way to gauge success or failure without such a test.

2018-12-08 23:32:05 UTC

Though for navy and air force personnel, raw strength and durability isn't overly important.

2018-12-08 23:32:42 UTC

Exactly. Even Heinlein placed women as pilots and ship personnel in his earlier works

2018-12-08 23:33:23 UTC

Were I overlord I would mandate some long-duration birth control and mandatory STD checks after shore leave and leave them to it.

2018-12-08 23:33:56 UTC

I would have no problem with the idea of mandating injectable or implanted birth control

2018-12-08 23:34:11 UTC

Constantly losing personnel to pregnancy is a financial burden that militaries shouldn't have to put up with.

2018-12-08 23:35:39 UTC

Agreed. Planned pregnancy after a certain term of service and being able to return to service afterwards should be permitted. Treat it kinda like temporary detached assignment and obviously a requirement that you have plans for care of the child when on further duty.

2018-12-08 23:37:02 UTC

No different than a widower man who is on active duty and still guardian of his kids.

2018-12-08 23:40:12 UTC

However, I think Obama was wrong to force to force ground combat units to allow women. The USMC did a detailed study about why it's a bad idea and it was ignored in favor of political correctness. Both the military and those few women who attempt to fill that role are going to suffer.

2018-12-08 23:41:34 UTC

This is why women were medics in World War 2...

2018-12-08 23:41:40 UTC

No they weren't.
