In case you're wondering who the most successful Ace pilots have been, they're basically all German

Most successful, and top ace of all time is Erich Hartmann, with 352 aerial victories

The reason was because that for the allies and Russians. Once you started doing well in planes. They took you off the front and made you a trainer. For the germans that was not an option.
Something tells me that's not the only factor
it was a large part of it. in the US is you became an ace. As soon as a tour was over they'd make you train pilots for a year.
Also, Russian pilots were really bad on average.

German Aces were a combination of planes shot down. 15 fighters & 5 bombers,
I know there's more, but you had to have a multitude of different planes shot down

You were seen as an ace at 5 kills. however you would not get a medal for it in Germany until you shot down at least 15 fighters and 5 bombers.
Keep in mind to that with the exception of maybe the British, Germany had by far the best trained pilots in 1939. in both training hours and combat time.
