Either way, what happened was a shit show.
It's certainly nice to know some of the things I've learned about a few of you here, though. All it takes is to be on the wrong side of a disagreement and suddenly at least a few of you would love to see me attacked in the street. (Been there done that, already. My stance remains the same.)
Embrace centrisim! Give in to the pragmatic side of the force!
I dont want to see you attacked at all, and I understand why you think it was motivated by malice. I just am not a sure as you are over this Rye.
Don't get us wrong. I would love to see you win a fight to the death with antifa.
Let's get this ironed out then.
I do not believe Fields went to Charolettesville with the intent to become a murderer.
@RyeNorth I don't wish nobody no harm that don't wish others no harm.
But if you go into a fight with Antifa, prepair a nice cell for you because that's where you are going!
The legendary penta-negative.
Lmao
Stefan, here's the thing
Here's what you're missing in this.
Channel the negative energy and become stronger.
My point IN IT'S ENTIRETY is that there is NO argument for Self Defense in either the case of Fields, or in the case of the NYC Proud Boys.
Not from the evidence that I have seen.
But you recognize that there could be arguments for self defense for these cases, based off evidence that could be available but you don't have access to.
Murder one is probably steep. I can grant that.
New evidence provides new angles.
The case of the NYC Proud Boys is a good example of that.
You argue based on the evidence you have though, not that you want.
When you see the hallway footage, you see Antifa throwing shit at Proud Boys
When you see the street footage, you see the Proud Boys charging Antifa.
And based off of Proud Boy testimony, they probably instigated the fight before the street footage.
Antifa were literally the ones in a self-defense scenario in that case.
Testimony is crap.
Bold of you to just throw out the cornerstone of millenia of judicial precedent.
Testimony is actually only good with certain evidence, it glues things together but it is not a cornerstone. It is more of a mortar for the bricks.
^ ^ ^
Crimsom puts that well.
Testimony is responsible for it's fair share of atrocity.
See: Salem Witch Trials, McCarthyism, The Kavanaugh Hearing
turns out that mcarthy was right though
there were communists at the highest levels of government, one of them was on the comitee he appointed
Oof, thats a spicy take. I like it.
That doesn't change much as Antifa were the ones to throw the first punch
One could argue that they felt threatened by a much larger person moving towards them rapidly
The argument for self-defense is tilted in Antifa's favor in this case.
If its a brawl, its not self defense. Along with that, if there is a way out of the situation, you must take it in NY.
Personally, i'd arrest them all and slap them with fines or even a bit of jail time if it came down to it.
