You know that ghost town you just passed through? No signs of life/habitation? The enemy is there now and they're using the structures as cover. Also you cannot call in fire missions on those buildings because they are civilian domiciles and also fuck you and your friends

Read a great book, Firestrike 7/9 I believe. Brit terminal attack controller. They're in their FOB, waiting for the Talis to surround their FOB and attack, in the green zone. They had to watch them surround the place and move weapons around, then wait for them to attack. Which was especially nice, knowing they were moving a big-ass field howitzer into position to shell the FOB. Which it did. Fucked the place up.

I ran across an indian guy who straight faced told me he is German because hes lived there for 2 years.
