For those of you looking for a church, I am so far able to recommend the Presbyterian Church of America and its outside-US counterparts. Their governance system mandates that all elected church officials be men, and yesterday's sermon included a direct mention of the role social justice plays in subverting the motivation of Godly men and women. In short, they are very based. No room for progressivism in the organization, and although the church's activities are centrally governed, if the members feel the elders or even the pastor are not serving the Church's best interests, they can be voted out. Fantastic
After I began the search for a new church, I was very disappointed with the places I attended. They weren't saying anything of substance or facilitating spiritual growth: they coddled you by saying that the way you were living your life was fine, then proceeded to deliver no message. It was stifling. I was able to see why so many people were frustrated with their attempts to find a place that nourished them, which provided them what they were looking for
Then I sat down and did my research on denominations, looking for conservative organizations. So far the PCA is a breath of fresh air. That little part inside me that's always thirsty was utterly satisfied
