Well, that's not the problem I saw

2018-07-10 18:54:55 UTC

She was discussing game development issues on twitter.

2018-07-10 18:55:09 UTC

Someone gave insight from the perspective of a player

2018-07-10 18:55:52 UTC

She snapped at him for commenting on the problem, as he's just a player.

2018-07-10 18:56:04 UTC

Or a man. Or generally not on staff

2018-07-10 18:56:06 UTC

yeah, she obviously has issues

2018-07-10 18:56:07 UTC

or whatever the reasoning was

2018-07-10 18:56:15 UTC

and shouldn't have been in the position she was in

2018-07-10 18:56:24 UTC

i.e. able to respond to players in an official capacity

2018-07-10 18:56:25 UTC

Firing might've been a little overkill

2018-07-10 18:56:32 UTC

maybe

2018-07-10 18:56:36 UTC

It's also entirely possible, though

2018-07-10 18:56:46 UTC

but she soured the the name of the company now

2018-07-10 18:56:46 UTC

that this, as Tim would say, was the grain of sand that made a heap

2018-07-10 18:57:08 UTC

Right now, absolutely.

2018-07-10 18:57:40 UTC

But I don't believe we know anything about her interactions with coworkers

2018-07-10 18:58:09 UTC

I think we know enough about her interactions with customers to merit an opinion, don't you think?

2018-07-10 19:00:07 UTC

It's worth noting that the Media has a trend towards isolating incidents to preserve a narrative.

2018-07-10 19:00:15 UTC

oh for sure

2018-07-10 19:00:17 UTC

This is valid for the games media as well

2018-07-10 19:00:42 UTC

gotta keep control of the narraive

Glenn Greenwald: MSNBC Does Not Merely Permit Fabrications Against Democratic Party Critics. It Encourages and Rewards Them.

Russian bots are back: #WalkAway attack on Democrats is a likely Kremlin operation

2018-07-10 21:30:19 UTC

Yeah, assuming that these were the only incidents and she hadn't been talked to before about problems and didn't create internal problems or react poorly internally I'd rather she been forced to apologize and told not to act like that in public, but oh well. I think most people would be fired if they did that IN the workplace

2018-07-10 21:31:10 UTC

People need to realize that if they want to act like an idiot you don't do it while wearing your employee uniform, and that is what they do on Twitter

2018-07-10 21:34:29 UTC

@Yuukas seems like all you'd need to do to discredit an entire grassroots movement would be to make a few bots to support it.

2018-07-10 21:36:49 UTC

Even if there are some bots in there I'm sure discounting all those who are legitimate as propagandists won't do much to change their mind

2018-07-10 21:36:51 UTC

I love how people ignore the fact that Russian bots and propaganda were posted on both sides of issues too

2018-07-10 21:37:25 UTC

Why is it that these bots are so easily traced to Russia anyway?

2018-07-10 21:37:34 UTC

There were paid FB posts for both pro and anti 2a, Dem and Repub etc

2018-07-10 21:37:44 UTC

They aren't, but I don't really care where they're from

2018-07-10 21:37:53 UTC

It's moot when they're hitting both sides

2018-07-10 21:38:16 UTC

Do that want people to know to spread division and appear strong, or are they really from elsewhere?

2018-07-10 21:38:58 UTC

i imagine the bots are intentionally easy to find because they exist so that they can be used to invalidate things

2018-07-10 21:39:17 UTC

"quick, people are starting to use this twitter hashtag, put the bots on it so we can say it's all just bots"

2018-07-10 21:39:19 UTC

Because I doubt they'd be so incompetent at hiding their trail if it were them and that didn't want people to know

2018-07-10 21:40:06 UTC

It sucks because it's really hard to know and both scenarios are plausible

2018-07-10 21:41:42 UTC

honestly the first country everyone goes to for falsifying their location when doing shady shit is russia

2018-07-10 21:42:09 UTC

or ukraine

2018-07-10 21:43:01 UTC

if someone is using a russian IP address when performing an attack I would be equally likely to assume they're from somewhere else

2018-07-10 21:43:20 UTC
