it would have been funny if they retweeted the article about their product being used to kill kids and said "Got any exciting photos?"

2018-10-02 19:10:51 UTC

i mean, thats basically what they did in the end.

2018-10-02 19:10:58 UTC

Trump should have never touched the orb, he's tainted now

2018-10-02 19:12:00 UTC

>contractor for US Military
>do your job
>US sells weapon you made for them to another country
>you are responsible for what happens
???

2018-10-02 19:12:42 UTC

@Beemann isn't the US just allowing lockheed to sell it?

2018-10-02 19:12:54 UTC

so the US govt doesn't sell directly unless its in stock

2018-10-02 19:13:00 UTC

but I get the point

2018-10-02 19:13:00 UTC

Are they?

2018-10-02 19:13:10 UTC

That was always my impression

2018-10-02 19:13:16 UTC

like the tanks I signed over to the Iraqi Army

2018-10-02 19:13:19 UTC

those were in stock

2018-10-02 19:13:19 UTC

My question ultimately is "how many steps removed do they have to be for it to not be their fault"

2018-10-02 19:13:31 UTC

i signed... i think 10 over to them

2018-10-02 19:13:32 UTC

I mean, if you sell to a person who is known for doing horrible things, are you not at part responsible?

2018-10-02 19:14:01 UTC

did you know the person was going to do something horrible before they did it?

2018-10-02 19:14:15 UTC

its fucking Saudi Arabia

2018-10-02 19:14:19 UTC

did they say "hey bruh. I'm gonna go blow up some kids"

2018-10-02 19:14:25 UTC

I suppose if the government decided to cut ties with Saudi Arabia and end foreign interventionism in general that LM lobbyists would just sit by and let it happen, then?

2018-10-02 19:14:30 UTC

Or do we live in reality

2018-10-02 19:14:32 UTC

A trusted US Ally (tm)

2018-10-02 19:14:37 UTC

@Risotto why not

2018-10-02 19:14:46 UTC

it wouldn't stop the US from allowing them to sell the product

2018-10-02 19:14:51 UTC

????

2018-10-02 19:14:51 UTC

That's a different thing you're blaming them for too

2018-10-02 19:15:13 UTC

Not that it would ever happen regardless

2018-10-02 19:15:25 UTC

Like go back and look at "isolationism" back during before WW1

2018-10-02 19:15:26 UTC

yes, the trusted us ally who often likes to fund the bombing of another trusted us ally

2018-10-02 19:15:52 UTC

Doesn't change the weird relationship you guys have with em

2018-10-02 19:16:02 UTC

its not weird, they have oil.

2018-10-02 19:16:07 UTC

at no time did that STOP US Defense Contractors (which at that point were basically small factories and companies) from selling to foreigners

2018-10-02 19:16:08 UTC

annoying

2018-10-02 19:16:13 UTC

So do many other countries

2018-10-02 19:16:23 UTC

Including ones that didn't participate in 9/11

2018-10-02 19:16:48 UTC

If you have one guy, let's call him Bernie, saying interventionism is bad, and another person, let's call them Hillary, saying we need to spread democracy throughout the Levant, which campaign would LM be more likely to donate to?

2018-10-02 19:17:16 UTC

@Risotto You're mistaken if you think that they give a shit who won based on that

2018-10-02 19:17:24 UTC

That's a different claim than "LM is responsible for [thing they could not forsee]"

2018-10-02 19:17:29 UTC

they care about who takes them less or gives them tax breaks

2018-10-02 19:17:37 UTC

They will BOTH still let them sell shit

2018-10-02 19:18:43 UTC

either way, i wouldn't run an ad asking for pictures of our product after it has been made public that our product was used to kill 40 children. particular if it was not a product that civilians can own. That is just gonna potentially hurt sales of products civilians can buy but do nothing to boost sales of government only products.

2018-10-02 19:19:02 UTC

public 2 days earlier*

2018-10-02 19:19:38 UTC

They weren't advertising for that missile, they just said "pictures of our products"
