instead of caring about money
they don't
I'm on the right. So I'm against regulation
its a marketing strategy, caused by fear of shame
@.B stick to that position.
I think companies that do that will eventually die out in a free market, But in silicon valley they have created a sort of trust.
The companies that go down this road are going to get hurt
but I don't really have much of an answer to a bunch of companies in the market speaking among themselves and banning everyone they disagree with
I mean its basically
"We're the company that loves everyone who is nice and god, and everyone should come here"
vs
"We're the company thats okay with nazis, everyone is free here"
its Social media damage control
I think so to, that the free market will take care of it
they don't want hate-mobs
but in the short time, I'm not too sure
they'll lose money in the long run and revert
or they'll die off 😄
what do you guys think of the banning of Gab?
There is almost no freemarket though. Since half a dozen companies control everything.
i saw that coming from a mile away
Banning it is wrong.
they even stole their domain
if I heard correctly
Gab will innovate I hope.
To get around this bullying.
I think Gab is shit, specially on the tech side. But I'm now kinda siding with them after what they did to them
Yes, its a free speech platform for all,
But if other platforms ban criminals/nazis/trolls/hatemongers etc
They'll automatically be drawn to the one that doesnt, and you'll get a permanent stain on your label
Cuz even if the people of gab don't like those people, they have to be allowed on for Gabs mission statement
and their competitors will gladly get rid of them for that
i mean it IS the issue
"If you don't like twitter, start your own twitter"
and when peopel do, it gets banned
so you can't have a free market
the problem is that if you embrace free speech, they will ALL, as a collective, label them as criminals/nazis/trolls/hatemongers
yes
thats what i said
you'll just get stained
If the first amendment if extended to the internet that might fix it?
this kinda makes me think we need some platforms that are more underground
For the US anyway
and to become bigger gradually
to the point of being too big to shutdown at that point
