Embracing ideas such as Blasphomy laws are bad. The argument is that if you can not critizie ideas, then we can not have open conversations, and to say that some ideas are absolutely off limits because it offends groups means there can never be healthy conversations.
Who wants to hear my unpopular opinion of African Americans?
Aren't all opinions of African Americans unpopular?
"Objective truth is impossible to achieve in the social sciences, so we should just focus on making propaganda"
"The social scientists have only used the cognitive function, in various ways. The point, however, is to use the manipulative function."

@halfthink is there a timestamp for those quotes you can help me with?
Just paraphrasing the conclusion of the speech.
Soros' argument, which he takes from Karl Popper, that empiricism is unable to achieve objective truth in the social sciences is correct, but he assumes empiricism is the only means of obtaining knowledge about anything. Geometry and Math are not empirical sciences, but no one denies their objectivity (other than postmodernists). Ludwig von Mises solved this issue with the social sciences in his book, Human Action by deducing universal laws from an axiomatic starting position.

Hey @Timcast have you ever thought of trying to start something like a trade association for creators? It seems like creators banding together is the only thing that gives platforms like Youtube, Twitter, and Patreon pause. In this current spate of deplatforming, Patreon especially seems worried about creators working together.
If you could come up with something like a set of shared principles in an open letter, you could as a whole become a force not to be trifled with.
At least it would give you a starting point for future collective action.
A trade organization of a few dozen creators would have a lot more clout with platforms that individuals, and might have some hope of getting policies changed. Or at the very least make them think twice about fucking with members arbitrarily.
You know a lot of people across Youtube and elsewhere, and you're seen as a level-headed, non-controversial, middle-of-the-road kind of guy. While you might not be the person to take charge of such an effort, maybe you could get the ball rolling.
There's the "Intellectual Dark Web", and while the people associated with it are precisely the sort of people I'm talking about they don't have the sort of statement of principles or formal group affiliation which could be used to actually lobby platforms or defend members. A creator trade association would have to be a little more formal and close-knit in order to have any sort of negotiating clout.
That just sounds like communism with extra steps.
Who here has autism and wants to weaponize it?
Somebody should go find clips of Jack Conte saying naughty words and publish them everywhere, get him removed from CEO of his own company
individualism is autism
in a good way
Here's my unpopular opinion of African Americans:
One of the troubles of urban black culture stem from the community's demonization of formal education, it being labelled as "White people shit". This is usually paired with the pervasive mindset that the only paths to success are through sports, rap music, and criminal activity, particularly in the case of gang violence. The enabling of this mindset from a very young age actively discourages aspiring black children from pursuing other means of success like academics, trades, or crafts. The only effective way to combat this is to encourage black children to break from the dangerously narrow "hood mentality" and harmful urban culture that black people have locked themselves into for so many years.
The only unpopular part of that opinion is blaming the blacks for what the welfare state would have done to any community.
French are fucking retarded

they can't even imagine the world without a welfare-state
Why should the taxpayer have to pay for the public sector? That's the government's responsibility.
yeah... the government can just print the money and pay for services, n'est-ce pas? 😉
Yeah, why tax when you can just redistribute the wealth by printing more money?
Seriously, the solution to all their problems is simply to end central banking. They are protesting because of constant inflation and wage stagnation.
Wouldn't it be awesome if the government was so small that the money they print is enough to cover for the costs without taxes?
🤔
