I knew I was a woman despite having male anatomy
He did not have female anatomy.
He was born male.
Yes, but they feminized his anatomy after the accident
He was told he was a girl. His body was that of a girl.
But his brain knew better
And forced to hold sexual positions with his brother at an early age to reinforce that.
I don't defend the experiment
It was trying to prove a morally bankrupt idea.
You don't give it any credit for fucking the two of them up, either.
We can agree, there.
Um, I think I just did
No, you cited the gender aspect. Not the sexual child abuse aspect.
No argument
My point is still that the brain knows and that's totally distinct from anatomy
Well except for neuroanatomy
It's worth noting that David believed he was female for a period, as well.
The brain is a tricky thing
(corrected name)
He was confused given all the pressure. Heaven knows I was too.
Transition saved my life.
His brain knew better. Mine did too.
Dying is definitely not a good thing. Threats of suicide do not equate to being correct, though.
I didn't threaten.
I'm not citing your situation.
Fair enough
Rather frequently, 'transgenderism' is aconpanied by other, undiagnosed issues.
If transition fixed all of your problems, you're officially an outlier.
My bio says that I "live two standard devations from the mean" :-)
And yes, I've known several self reported trans oersons who were borderline personalities. One of the reasons why I so dislike trans being seen as "cool". It's not. It sucks. It's not normal. That said, it's real and it exists. Those who have it need an avenue to find some semblance of peace. For some, transition really does provide that.
The argument is, where is the actual damage?
Is the physical body wrong, or is the mind?
I'm glad it was there for me and I don't want to see the avenue closed for others. There are so many success stories. Just like at Kim Petras.
That's a good question but currently irrelevant since we can't fix the mind. And even if we could, like with homosexuality, is it ethical to force a change in a functional person against thier will? If you say yes, then let's start dumping lithium in the water. :p
We absolutely can.
I'm up for lithium in the water. Let's do it.
Not what I'm talking about.
One sec, driving. Just got off shift
The DSM5 makes clear that a person who is functional and who is not distressed by a condition is not sick.
I no longer have gender identity dysphoria because I'm functional and not distressed by my body anymore. Well any more than all women are self critical. :-)
