It makes sense legally
Tommy's arrest was super sketchy
He asked the cops if he was in the clear, they said yes. He got arrested and the judge witnessed the "crime" and the arrest
it seems like they were looking for any reason to arrest and sentence the guy to me
He could have escaped if it was just a custodial arrest, but he was on parole
and then proceeded to give him 13 months
With the flash court ruling
so any crime while out
Oh, i wasnt aware he was on parole.
further I've heard rumors of sketchier shit from Dankula, but it's one of those things that you cant confirm
But, here's what I find sketchy
Tommy wasn't alone
there were two other reporters in the exact same area
Working for a sikh news network
With much bigger equipment
For some reason them being there is fine
but for tommy it isn't?
yup, law is definitely not being applied consistently
Also it was a rather short trial
and the lawyer told tommy to plead guilty
Rules for thee, but not for me~
iirc it was said before the incident that if tommy did that again, he would be arrested?
Any custodial crime, yes
Dankula's claim is that the lawyer they gave him was not his own, and that they lied to his lawyer so he wouldnt show up
but we'll have to wait and see if that's true
I'm actually a big fan of tommy's
He's widely misrepresented in the media
Both alternative and mainstream
I don't know enough about Tommy, but he shouldn't have been arrested for what he did. Commentating on a ongoing trial is just the same as any other news media out there, mainstream or alternative >.>
But, the guy is a firebrand
and has done some really stupid shit
I'm not familiar with him, but the laws he was jailed for seem questionably ethical to say the least
thats part of the larger issue regarding laws surrounding media coverage of court cases
I remember when he was still the leader of EDL
He told the racists and nazis to leave, and burned a nazi flag in front of them
Dude was threatened to leave the party or die
xD
But now he's known as the "former leader of the EDL"
Even though he literally told the far righters to leave, and then left himself
