anyway, shiva i dont think its correct to say that the left wanting to support censorship in the united states is reflective of being concervitive, its reflective of being authoritarian, though different groups in the left want it for different reasons. the neoliberals want it to defend themselves from opposition, though as they are on their way down i think youll see less and less call for regulated speech when they have less power to prevent their own speech from being regulated. as for the progressives, they want it because they believe that words have power and progressives wnat to fight for the powerless (those thy think are the powerless) and thus fight to take words from their opponents and also use those words of their oppoennts in order to target them and disassociate themselves from them. ultimately progressives have had their ideology warped by the idea that race and identity are more important than class though however or that they are sononymus with class and thus act as identitarians for neo-liberal voting blocks while neo-libs support a globalist agenda that reflects intersectionality and old school communism but actually acts to support international bussiness by disadvanteging the national working class for the sake of the international working class
