I don't think *any* kid ever grows up to be what they wanted to be when they were a kid. If one does, they're one of the luckiest people on Earth.

@Atkins I forget the primary fundraising organizations, but there are several. They also trade notes. There's a reason you usually see ACLU and SPLC bumper stickers together. They send mailers to the same donors.
Plus, you have activists who will essentially demand tribute when they protest. They get it from businesses.
A big surge probably came from Soros dropping 18 bil across the left-wing board.
@Schedrevka I think what most people who say that forget is that kids have the purest interpretation of heroes. They don't have politics, teachings, and beliefs skewing their view.

@Scribblehatch, I wouldn't say that. It's one of the largest endowments in the country and they bankroll everything. Sometime around the 60s and 70s they decided to push social reforms and have been solidly hard left ever since.
Probably a lot of overlap between them anyway.
@Scribblehatch It's a big BIG step up from mere "virtue signalling." They'll drop a couple hundred million on a university and create whole programs.
And those programs then go and create their own infrastrcuture.

Koch is unique in that up until now he's been very picky in how his money is spent. But that's probably going to change. UnKoch My Campus succeeded in forcing him to reveal the terms of his grants.
The experience of the right wing donor class is that their money tends to get reappropriated in favor of prorams preferred by the administration and the social justice left.
@Atkins NLG was behind several 1st amendment shoutdowns recently. They also defended the weathermen for free and donated their own kids to support weatherman bombings.

At one of the protests Tim filmed a while back there were NLG people there who said they'd testify only on behalf of Antifa and not the other side.
