Total Riscuit?
Tommy Robinson.
right
i'm not sure what i was thinking
infowars.com registrar is name.com. That's probably the next company to give him the boot.
If cloudflare withdraw's DDoS protection that's the end of infowars regardless of registrar.
didn't one of the heads at like cloudflare discuss never wanting to do something like that again after doing it to some other alt-right website?
I don't think cloudflare was involved with the stormfags at all.
Wait, google says it was
Godaddy was the registrar but yeah they also had cloudflare protection
Can't say I trust the man not to "wake up in a bad mood" again.
true
at the same time, some people don't quite realize how much power they really have and can be appalled by the results when it becomes apparent, sometimes.
ignorance is bliss
for example: "My rationale for making this decision was simple: the people behind the Daily Stormer are assholes and I'd had enough ... I woke up this morning in a bad mood and decided to kick them off the Internet." this quote can be taken to different ways, and we don't have the rest of the message it was taken from
but the context for that message was, according to the article, this happened after the incident, and potentially as his opening call for "we need to come up with the right way to do things, because this was not it."
since it claims they were debating how to deal with something like this in the future
also
"The tipping point for us making this decision," Prince wrote in the blog, "was that the team behind Daily Stormer made the claim that we were secretly supporters of their ideology."
thats potentially important.
whether that is a cover or bs, who knows
So long as they let everyone have the same rights.
Ah if thats the logic I could understand the knee jerk reaction
"Uhh... We're changing everything because some neonazis are having a good time."
Still its not what id expect from such a large company
if i was offering a service to someone, then found out they claimed i supported actions they did because i was taking their money when i do not support them, i'd probably drop them as a customer too
unfortunately, there is a very very small number of companies that run the internet
so that is where there is a conflict
and technically, its not even cloudflare's fault Stormer went down. not directly. just indirectly
if the guards at a place quite, its not the guards who robbed the place.
