First thought: Easy, catchy way to explain the difference between an authoritarian and a libertarian

Like they asked the people to move, and literally had an officer go to each of them one by one and made sure they understood that would happen

Authoritarians believe that Government should inform Culture. Libertarians believe Culture should inform Government.

There's only one small group of people who call them liberals & that is certain right wing people who dislike the left in it's entirety to the point of trying to brand it all as the same blank slate

The left/right wing dichotomy is terribly outdated, and especially ill suited to the modern 'culture war' which is more between authoritarians, (small L) libertarians, and a small amount of authoritarians pretending to be libertarian

I don't think that they are. I think that on the Authoritarian/Libertarian scale, that's the value that matters more. A libertarian conservative is more likely to try to sway your opinions than impose them.

It is annoying though to have people who confuse the authoritarian left for being the whole left even if it is the currently culturally dominant part. Like they forget that many on the left are on their side despite them being on the right

I'd much rather some guy on the right say I'm a bad person because I'm slightly left leaning than have the media constantly decrying everyone who disagrees as alt right

But someone who's on the right and libertarian isn't going to notice that you've got left leaning tendencies, or particularly care.

They might debate you, but they probably won't call you a bad person
