My all in one gaming computer has better res than my friends big screen TV

2018-08-13 02:12:33 UTC

PCMR

2018-08-13 02:13:27 UTC

i'm running 1050p because when I swapped from CRT I couldn't get used to full HD ๐Ÿ˜„

2018-08-13 02:13:29 UTC

@OofYeetEye what TV is it? i might be able to find an aspect ratio to help you guys narrow the range of options

2018-08-13 02:13:36 UTC

whoa

2018-08-13 02:13:57 UTC

also, it is possible your display drivers will not support the proper aspect ratio. it happens from time to time

2018-08-13 02:15:01 UTC

I wish I had a picture of my old battlestation for shitposting uses. I only had a laptop and its screen died, so I had to have it hooked up to an old CRT monitor which I placed on a bedside table in front of my old falling apart couch

2018-08-13 02:15:14 UTC

#truegamersonly

2018-08-13 02:15:43 UTC

good old CRTs

2018-08-13 02:16:10 UTC

spent $1500 on a PC that can crush any AAA game I throw at it and all I play is pixelated indie games ffs

2018-08-13 02:16:14 UTC

CRTs are an old staple

2018-08-13 02:17:57 UTC

lol talking about Antifa on Who is America

2018-08-13 02:18:01 UTC

but actually had very good color reproduction

2018-08-13 02:18:12 UTC

its not until recently that LCDs have overtaken them

2018-08-13 02:19:01 UTC

Don't forget that CRTs are lagless. There's a good reason Melee tournaments still use them exclusively

2018-08-13 02:20:33 UTC

Then there's just the fact that many old games were made with the effects of a CRT screen in mind. Things like scanlines being able to smooth over the tiles, and the colors all being more saturated than intended to account for how it would look on a CRT

2018-08-13 02:22:02 UTC

stupid europe getting SCART RGB on their TVs

2018-08-13 02:22:30 UTC

burgerland stuck with composite until like the late 90s

2018-08-13 02:26:32 UTC

Yeah, but PAL TVs ran at 50 Hz while burger TVs ran at 60. That's probably part of why the Mega Drive did poorly in England. Sonic playing at a noticeably slower speed wasn't so impressive

2018-08-13 02:27:14 UTC

what is even *burger*?

2018-08-13 02:27:32 UTC

either us or german is my guess

2018-08-13 02:27:43 UTC

US

2018-08-13 02:27:48 UTC

i would assume germany no?

2018-08-13 02:27:57 UTC

2018-08-13 02:28:17 UTC

All country's culture is America's culture now, and they can just deal with it.

2018-08-13 02:28:40 UTC

god save us all

2018-08-13 02:29:00 UTC

"Land of Hamburgers" the US. What is that ww2 anime? America eats nothing but cheese burgers and diet soda.

2018-08-13 02:47:58 UTC
