Well, the candidates that would come up would INVARIABLY fall short.
And we weren't even asking for college degrees.
(We were asking for specific experience in cycling)
At the end of the day, one of the people we hired was actually a boxer. They dug the job because it was good exercise.
How specific though? Cycling isn't something a lot of people do outside of a hobby
At the end of the day, all we cared about was that the work was getting done.
Any time they're listing credentials on job listings, they're listing the 'ideal'. If you don't meet the requirements, and they don't want to hire you, fuck'em. But if you don't ask, the answer's no anyway. There really isn't any harm.
Which is why an oversaturated labor market is a problem for anyone not very specifically qualified.
People were laughing at me earlier for mention the HR blacklists.
Fuck **all of you** who did that.
They aren't the tooth fairy. They exist.
In Tech, sure.
If you apply to the wrong employer without the qualifications, they'll put you on one.
I don't believe that for a second.
We laughed at you because you said you were going to get blacklisted for sending a resume in
... Yeah.
That's what I'm saying. And what has happened to people.
I work in IT. I've talked to IT hiring managers
They blacklist for lying
GEEEEE.
>get blocked for making what seems to be an accurate observation about someone, continue seeing more evidence for it
I don't believe you for a second when you imply that there's some inter-company agreement to fuck this guy over in particular, outside of the Silicon Valley tech bubble
Not because you don't have a Comp Sci degree
Or maybe Media.
one point you and I WOULD agree on
absolutely 100% fuck working for companies that do one of those 100 question personality quizzes.
Every job I've worked had that.
The practicum partners for the course I took all "wanted" years of experience from an 8 month cert course
Well there's your problem.
I've never seen a job that had a personality quiz. That sounds absolutely retarded.
Strongly disagree and strongly agree are the only logical things to use.
Also never had a personality quiz
I've never seen a decent job that used one of those.
I think we've established I've only ever had horrible jobs.
Maybe that's a regional thing. I'm from the southest of south in the US.
I have a terrible opinion of anywhere I've ever worked.
Bill Lumbergh is not just in offices.
i had a director who after getting hired gave us personality quizes .... we got that fucker fired after 2 months
fuck him
I've actually see the results of those quizzes
The way the data is collected is dumber than you think
