Yeah luckily we can afford it pretty easily but I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have the job I do

2018-08-18 17:35:32 UTC

funny how priorities have changed to acomodate everything but us

2018-08-18 17:35:37 UTC

is like whats this economy?

2018-08-18 17:35:43 UTC

for who are we really working you know

2018-08-18 17:35:44 UTC

The family unit. Yes

2018-08-18 17:36:08 UTC

Thoae that make the choices for. Families can't relate with barely making it

2018-08-18 17:36:23 UTC

It still takes a village to raise a child. But forgot what made a village special.

2018-08-18 17:36:34 UTC

Basically

2018-08-18 17:36:47 UTC

Now a village is a bunch of strangers you don't know nor trust.

2018-08-18 17:37:03 UTC

Yes

2018-08-18 17:37:07 UTC

Rather than friends and neighbors

2018-08-18 17:37:13 UTC

you mean the city

2018-08-18 17:37:21 UTC

No one has time anymore

2018-08-18 17:37:23 UTC

a small town still is like that in most cases

2018-08-18 17:37:30 UTC

The government is your village, comrade

2018-08-18 17:37:34 UTC

Yes cities but the vast majority live in cities

2018-08-18 17:37:46 UTC

yep

2018-08-18 17:37:46 UTC

I remember as a kid, we used to throw block parties. I new my neighbors. Now? This is rare

2018-08-18 17:37:55 UTC

We will take your children if you teach them wrongthink. Do not worry

2018-08-18 17:37:55 UTC

Yup

2018-08-18 17:38:05 UTC

I would blame stranger danger for a lot of this.

2018-08-18 17:38:12 UTC

nah

2018-08-18 17:38:16 UTC

...

2018-08-18 17:38:19 UTC

we actually had an older lady in our neighborhood who volunteered to take care of peoples kids and everyone liked her

2018-08-18 17:38:19 UTC

Wow I'm convinced.

2018-08-18 17:38:22 UTC

@Deleted User I grew up in a small town. It still has changed. Not nearly as bad as a city, but still.

2018-08-18 17:38:26 UTC

It. Contributes

2018-08-18 17:38:27 UTC

People are also just more insular generally

2018-08-18 17:38:35 UTC

Tech has made the world closer but the local more distant

2018-08-18 17:38:36 UTC

But it's mainly cost of living versus wages

2018-08-18 17:38:40 UTC

Social media replaced actual social interaction

2018-08-18 17:38:45 UTC

And tech

2018-08-18 17:38:49 UTC

i also grew in a small town, it became a 4 million city

2018-08-18 17:38:57 UTC

Ruben takes August off

2018-08-18 17:39:02 UTC

What city?

2018-08-18 17:39:09 UTC

not in the us

2018-08-18 17:39:10 UTC

Great idea but not many can do that

2018-08-18 17:39:12 UTC

Ah

2018-08-18 17:39:49 UTC

we need Abolish Social Media Act 2020

2018-08-18 17:40:02 UTC

i'm moderate, this is the only solution

2018-08-18 17:40:18 UTC

Cost of living is further enhanced by individualization of expenses. Extended families under one roof existed for a reason
