Hello bRETT
On a slightly different note, has anyone used AncestryDNA to trace back their family history? I've used Ancestry.com but only got as far back as about 500 years ago. I'd like to see if I can go back further wtih DNA. But I'm wondering what type of information they keep on you. I know 23andme is building a database similar to Google so I won't be using that
Knowing something more about he exact origin of your DNA is kind of useful
lke that 23&me
But since it separates results by regions, and my family trees for my father dates back to 1700's and my mother's tree back to 1400's
And all of them have people exclusivelly of Balkan origin
Then I don't see a point in investing into that research
ah.
Like in my most recent family, of all people i have only 2 relatives of different ethniity, 1 croat (wich is essentially same as serb) and 1 greek
i got back to northern Switzerland on my mother's side and on my father's to northern England, but have'nt gotten any further. It would be useful to know more but I don't want to end up with my DNA in some gov't database like a biological NSA
thats 200 years back
ahh, have you used ancestry.com to see how far back you can go?
In more ancient history there were probably some other non-Serbs of Balkan origin
Nope
you might want to give it a try, it's actually pretty addictive
You have to give samples and everything i see
I wouldnt invest into that right now
