I can think of two ways to keep corporations in check but not completely take their stuff.

Unfounded theories are bad

Anti-Trust Laws... breaking up monopoly of smaller corporations.

So thus, I don't think letting government regulate the corporations is smart.

So, leave the government out, so what will watch the corpoations?

We the people, through the usages of Bill of Rights. Only time we invite government in is if they infringe upon our bill of rights.

To leeve heavy fines or punishments.

Or we could adjust the Anti-Trust Laws to account for the current corporation crap, make them release hold of many of their assets. Weakening their monopoly on the internet.
