If the democrats built a sensible centrist policy platform with no socialist nonsense or intersectional bullshit, and found a sensible likable candidate they'd have a real shot.

Regardless of how good of a job Trump is doing he's still not well liked on a personal level. He's inarticulate and unpredictable. People think he's immoral, and probably has tons of dirty deals no one has found yet.

So it's not like the guy is invincible.

I honestly think it's possible depending on how the midterms plays out. If dems win and push for impeachment they'll find someway to out him and use it to lock in control imo by slanting the narrative for them forever. If republicans win I believe the Mueller investigation would end with nothing and more campaign promises will be fullfilled

We are going to see a lot of violence during the mid-terms from the left.

Mueller investigation will be going on until Trump leaves office in 2024.

Mueller only goes down in history if he manages to get Trump impeached. If he just finds nothing and ends the investigation he's a failure.

For investigations this large and consequential there's a real conflict of interest. Maybe instead of a one man special council it should be a triumvirate.

With a team of investigators all sharing the prestige and having to come to unanimity on how they should pursue the investigation there's less likelihood of a never-ending fishing expedition for personal glory.
