The NYTimes has segregated slack chatrooms.

2018-09-05 02:40:03 UTC

but its like reversed. its super weird

2018-09-05 02:40:05 UTC

time is going backwards lmao

2018-09-05 02:40:54 UTC

progressives are truly just regressive, real progressivism barely exists anymore

2018-09-05 02:43:52 UTC

Do you live in a heavily Democrat district?

2018-09-05 02:44:06 UTC

I think I've blown a gasket on "progressive values"

2018-09-05 02:44:13 UTC

They push this stuff to the forefront.

2018-09-05 02:44:38 UTC

nope

2018-09-05 02:44:42 UTC

lucky.

2018-09-05 02:44:48 UTC

we are mixed demographic wise

2018-09-05 02:45:08 UTC

city is more Dem but suburbs more Repub

2018-09-05 02:45:27 UTC

the candidates tend to be more moderate as a result

2018-09-05 02:45:28 UTC

Where I am it's among the most left-leaning places in America.

2018-09-05 02:45:41 UTC

They do nothing but talk about "Progressive values"

2018-09-05 02:45:49 UTC

cali?

2018-09-05 02:45:52 UTC

It's worse than "family values" at the height of the 90s

2018-09-05 02:45:54 UTC

NY.

2018-09-05 02:46:13 UTC

so i wonder where chicago will go now

2018-09-05 02:46:29 UTC

bankrupt?

2018-09-05 02:46:41 UTC

well in relation to their mayor

2018-09-05 02:49:34 UTC

because whats his name said he wont seek reelection

2018-09-05 02:50:58 UTC

Like my districts Dem candidate IS worth voting for (so far), they dont seem to be using ID Pol, they are born and raised in the area, have military experience (although i dont think that matters to much personally), theyve shown no signs of corruption, and seem to be principled. I plan to meet them soon so I will find out more. The Repub on the other hand has some corruption issues last i heard and unfairly aided in getting a third party candidate on the ballot, if said candidate did so on their own I wouldnt have a problem but because the Repub essentially helped I dont have much trust in them.

2018-09-05 02:51:46 UTC

its all about whos best for the job

2018-09-05 02:51:51 UTC

just know that ppl lie

2018-09-05 02:51:57 UTC

yea ultimately

2018-09-05 02:52:21 UTC

IDK. I've come to suspect that most politicians these days don't really matter that much individually.

2018-09-05 02:52:44 UTC

They tend to just yield to the party when push comes to shove, particularly in the Democrats where the party has more levers of contorl.

2018-09-05 02:52:44 UTC

its more the parties and the elites that tend to be the problem imo

2018-09-05 02:52:58 UTC

Can agree a bit there.

2018-09-05 02:53:03 UTC

well i worry that most say one thing then get in and do the completely opposite

2018-09-05 02:53:08 UTC

@Sjaleo hi finnlander <:lel:395181420701548544>

2018-09-05 02:53:19 UTC

god bless

2018-09-05 02:53:24 UTC

ye thats a legitimate fear

2018-09-05 02:53:30 UTC

especially nowadays

2018-09-05 02:54:11 UTC

like as much as i think some of Bernies policies reek of socialism, he is at least principled

2018-09-05 02:54:22 UTC

and sticks to them whenever possible

2018-09-05 02:55:01 UTC

Perhaps. My concern at the end off the day is hard policy.

2018-09-05 02:55:22 UTC

I don't like Sanders that much. I think he'd push very shortsighted socialist policies.

2018-09-05 02:56:04 UTC

But Sanders is a has-been at this point.

2018-09-05 02:56:26 UTC

The biggest issue i see with both parties and voters is the desire for instant results
