๐Ÿ’ฉ

2019-05-21 02:57:21 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Deleted User what doyou think of the photos taken from the first rockets, up high in 1947

2019-05-21 02:59:04 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

Hi

2019-05-21 02:59:16 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

^^^^^^!!!!!

2019-05-21 02:59:19 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

booya

2019-05-21 02:59:27 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

ya

2019-05-21 02:59:30 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

did you have an answer

2019-05-21 03:00:11 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

from up high

2019-05-21 03:00:25 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

interesting

2019-05-21 03:03:10 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Deleted User how do you feel about the fact that the horizon drops with altitude

2019-05-21 03:04:57 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Derek Nelson Curvature of the Earth: LIGOโ€™s arms are long enough that the curvature of the Earth was a factor in their construction. Over the 4 km length of each arm, the Earth curves away by nearly a meter! Precision concrete pouring of the path upon which the beam-tube is installed was required to counteract this curvature.

2019-05-21 03:04:59 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

FAIL

2019-05-21 03:05:26 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Deleted User it was a photo dude

2019-05-21 03:05:28 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

not digital

2019-05-21 03:06:05 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Derek Nelson show me the engineering data supporting that claim

2019-05-21 03:06:14 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

nor eason the towers would be anything but straight up

2019-05-21 03:06:30 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

i did

2019-05-21 03:06:31 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

just then

2019-05-21 03:06:52 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Deleted User can metadata be faked?

2019-05-21 03:07:18 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

it can't be faked?

2019-05-21 03:07:23 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

how can it be erased then

2019-05-21 03:07:35 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

oh ok so why would you want that

2019-05-21 03:08:00 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

photographs don't have metadat

2019-05-21 03:08:11 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

on film, there's metadata?

2019-05-21 03:08:25 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

ok so it'd have something like 2001 or something

2019-05-21 03:08:29 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

why do you want that

2019-05-21 03:08:57 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

nice why do you want that

2019-05-21 03:10:42 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

did he get hacked

2019-05-21 03:11:46 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

wtf isn't this his server

2019-05-21 03:15:10 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

that's a composite image

2019-05-21 03:15:59 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

what about the images that aren't composites

2019-05-21 03:19:23 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

Some of them would take it further and claim that the fact the photos are composites are โ€œproofโ€ that there are no โ€œrealโ€ photos of the Earth. They are wrong. There are many such pictures, which were taken in a single exposure.

And obviously, the existence of these composite pictures of Earth can never be used to prove a flat-Earth.

2019-05-21 03:19:41 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Seeker of Truth why would satellites be visible?

2019-05-21 03:20:31 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

even if there were satelites, would they be visible from that distance/

2019-05-21 03:27:06 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Derek Nelson different zooms

2019-05-21 03:31:50 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Derek Nelson "that is bullshit" is not a valid falsification method

2019-05-21 03:37:41 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Derek Nelson easy here watch and learn:

2019-05-21 03:41:52 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Derek Nelson let's talk about that last image

2019-05-21 03:42:14 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

answer me this please, if the merry go round spins slowly, does it fling everything off?

2019-05-21 03:44:35 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Seeker of Truth why does that guy disappear so soon, when boats disappear only after miles?

2019-05-21 03:47:50 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Derek Nelson the projection of your line of sight to the horizon is a circle, which is a flat shape

2019-05-21 03:47:51 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

planar

2019-05-21 03:48:03 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

so you can see things behind the curve but not see the curve itself

2019-05-21 03:48:06 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

untill you get really high up

2019-05-21 03:49:02 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

see the projection of the FOV onto the globe? it makes a circle

2019-05-21 03:50:00 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

"it's fake" is not a counterargument

2019-05-21 03:50:21 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Citizen Z it's actualy .017

2019-05-21 03:51:23 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

@Citizen Z angular resolution wouldn't make it disappear bottom up

2019-05-21 03:51:41 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

your eyes resolution doesn't change for the bottom of the boat

2019-05-21 03:52:14 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

that's not the right angle

2019-05-21 03:52:18 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

angular size is what matter

2019-05-21 03:52:31 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

yep

2019-05-21 03:52:38 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

show me please

2019-05-21 03:53:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

was the 2nd picture taken from a different distance?

2019-05-21 03:53:27 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

or is it hte same picture

2019-05-21 03:53:42 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

if i take a picture close to your nose i won't be able to see your ears

2019-05-21 03:55:28 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

b/c the angular size is different

2019-05-21 03:55:43 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

the size of the object subtending yoru field of view

2019-05-21 03:55:50 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

angular resolution remains the same

2019-05-21 03:56:17 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

so my eye has one resolution for the left and one for the right, within the same image?

2019-05-21 03:56:55 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

i think you mean angular size

2019-05-21 03:57:09 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

angular resolution is constant, that's what your eye has

2019-05-21 03:57:12 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

that doesn't change

2019-05-21 03:57:45 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

that's just angular size

2019-05-21 03:57:49 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

getting lower than your detector

2019-05-21 03:57:51 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

yep

2019-05-21 03:58:28 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

I did try

2019-05-21 03:58:29 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

sigh

2019-05-21 03:59:00 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

no angular resolution is a function of the thing looking, eye or camera sensor

2019-05-21 03:59:03 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

i think you have this wrong

2019-05-21 03:59:16 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

you're talkinga bout angular size

2019-05-21 03:59:44 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

doesn't look like it

2019-05-21 03:59:58 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

id have to fire a laser along it

2019-05-21 04:00:39 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

because it occupies a larger part of of field of view

2019-05-21 04:00:44 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

it's angular size is larger

2019-05-21 04:00:54 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

precisely

2019-05-21 04:01:32 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

it becomes difficult to discern individual object

2019-05-21 04:01:48 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

i.e. i can't see individual grains of sand but i can still see thebeach

2019-05-21 04:01:55 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

.017 degrees for human eye

2019-05-21 04:02:15 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

but you're using the wrong angle

2019-05-21 04:02:25 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

you need to use the angle that the object occupies in the FOV

2019-05-21 04:02:32 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

not the angle BETWEEN it and something else

2019-05-21 04:02:41 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

what angle

2019-05-21 04:02:58 UTC [The Ice Wall #lounge]

ya that's the wrong part
