You can even see the stripes
On a good day
You mean in Jupiter
?
It is a circle shape
And the stripes visible wrap around it implying a spherical shape
Fair point
Citizen, what are your thoughts on the nature of the moon?
Iโve seen different people say different things
Yea
But a large sphere wouldnโt match up with flat earth
For the exact reason
Well
People would be seeing it from different angles
Eh?
Do they?
It would look squashed if I stood far away from it
Like an oval
But the moon is always a sphere
or a circle
It would have to be a sphere
In order to be viewed as circular from all angles
Wouldnโt it?
Yes
But all of those places see a round moon
If the moon were a flat disc, some people would see it as a squashed oval
The people looking at it from the Side
No...
It looks pretty round to me
Itโs literally a circle?
Iโm confused here
So is the moon a flat disc?
So...
Why does everyone see the same side of the moon
If it were close to the ground and above a flat plain, people would see different sides of it
Right?
...
How can a sphere look the same from all angles
Even on a flat earth
Not if the moon was spinning in sync with the earth
If you hold out your hand and spin in a circle, you arenโt going to be able to be the other side of your hand, no matter how many times or how fast you spin
Youโll have to turn your hand over for that
Okay
So
The moon completes 1 full spin and 1 full revolution around the earth in the same amount of time
So relative to the earth, the same side always faces us
Why would you see a different part?
Because no matter how fast we spin, the moon isnโt going to look different
That would be like trying to see the back of a building by spinning in circles really fast
The same side always faces the earth
As it revolves around it
Because the moon cannot appears the way it does on a flat earth
On a flat earth, you would see different sides of the moon based on where you are
No..
Will always face your fist*
But yes
Itโs moving exactly like it would if it was on a string
Thatโs what I meant by โin-syncโ
The same side always faces the earth no matter how fast or slow the earth spins
^
Iโm saying that on a flat earth it would be flat-out impossible to see the same side from all angles
The moon doesnโt look like just a light
It has distinct features
You canโt see through the moon
Lol
I have seen the moon with my own two eyes
In no way is it see through
Iโm sorry but you cannot argue against my own observations
On something like that
not much
I also dont get the "how does water stick to a spinning ball" question
why wouldn't it? what other forces are acting on it
no im not answering you
Im not a flat earther
people with blue and purple roles are flat earthers
orange and yellow usually imply round earthers and visitors
Im a round earther because of the moon and the stars
basically the sky in general
it acts like we are on a sphere
So I think people were having trouble visualizing my moon argument
Basically what I was saying is that
On a flat earth, people would be seeing the moon from different angles
So someone looking at the moon from the west would see more of the western side of the moon, while someone looking east would see more of the eastern side. Someone with the moon straight above them would only see the near side
However in reality
Everybody sees the same face of the moon no matter where they are
Hey so
I was wondering if I could get image perms
My points would be easier to express
If I had sketches
?
Sorry I donโt have a mic
๐ฆ
Okay
Well I guess I should still ask about the moon
If the earth is flat, why does everybody see the same side of the moon?
Weight or mass?
It doesnโt have one
I guess zero
Not floating
Itโs in free fall
