Reversing decades of U.S. policy, the Trump administration said Monday it will end all asylum protections for most migrants who arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border — the president's most forceful attempt to block asylum claims and slash the number of people seeking refuge in America.

The new rule, expected to go into effect Tuesday, would cover countless would-be refugees, many of them fleeing violence and poverty in Central America. It is certain to face legal challenges.

According to the plan published in the Federal Register , migrants who pass through another country — in this case, Mexico — on their way to the U.S. will be ineligible for asylum. The rule also applies to children who have crossed the border alone.

**Men Sentenced for Child Exploitation Site That Had ‘Babies & Toddlers’ Section**

Four men from the United States and Canada were sentenced on Aug. 9 for their roles in a global child exploitation enterprise.

Patrick Falte, 29, of Tennessee created a website in July 2015 called “The Giftbox Exchange” and, as the lead administrator, established rules that required users to upload and share images and videos depicting pre-teen children being sexually abused before being allowed access to the site, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

**North Carolina Republican candidates Dan Bishop and Greg Murphy won the state’s special elections on Tuesday in the ninth and third Congressional Districts, after continued support from President Donald Trump.** #MAGA

Bishop, a state senator defeated Democrat Dan McCready with 50.47 percent of the vote compared to McCready’s 48.9 percent, with 86% of the vote counted, after millions of dollars were spent on this election. This comes after one of the largest pro-Trump super PACs backed Bishop in the special election, spending over $200,000 in independent expenditures on the Bishop campaign.
