Don't let anyone convince you of the argument that some people make that "I was born like this so I can't change" it just does not hold up Biblically. This is because when you are born again you are given a new body. This does not mean you will not struggle. You will struggle plenty and more than if you lived as a sinner. I totally get what you mean there will always be good times and there will always be bad times. The answer is to have faith in the Lord that He will lead you through the good and the bad times. Just remember what the temptation is doing for you and that resisting by the power of God results in your purification of sorts. It is like a silver smith heating up silver and then taking the impurities off of the top and repeating the process until the smith can see his face in the silver. The silver smith is God. The silver is us. The heat is temptation. Temptation serves a purpose. An important one at that. I suggest looking at Bible verses on this topic. If you feel like you don't need to that means you especially need to. This is because Satan is trying to keep you away from these passages with pride. Remember God said my people are destroyed by a lack of knowledge. I do not recall if that silver smith analogy is in the Bible or not all I remember is my youth pastor talking about it.
