The moon is about 384,400 km. And the density of the air is so DAMN dense that you can only see 22.2 km into the horizon? Something is not clicking here?

If Earth were flat, or if you were standing atop a mountain surveying a larger than usual patch of the planet, you could perceive bright lights hundreds of miles distant but the curve does not allow for one to look that far.

Look, if the earth were flat, how can you explain time zones?

Look it is night time in one place and sunlight in the other? Does the sun move left and right over the earth, oh wait that wouldn't make sense since if you were looking at it on a map it would leave one side of the map and come up in the other, that is because its round so as the earth orbits it gets lit in different areas and dark in others.
