These are entirely hypothetical so just hypothetically if someone had all their needs and more could they escape it?
I wouldnt say they were ruined by either tbh
@tntkoren "Blue states" werent ruined by democrats or Trump, I don't think its really even fair to call them ruined as they're really not ruined and theres states in equal positions to them which vote republican
Where you walking?
I've never seen anything of the sort @Michigan Man 🍂
I'll have to take your anecdotes on the matter @Michigan Man 🍂
@Michigan Man 🍂 I didnt ask what you were thinking?
How dare anyone criticize obvious flaws and problems, you should blindly accept them like a real American 🇺🇸
What about the human fecal matter? I've never seen it but apparently its covering the U.S @Mcgoober
Yes... the cities in America...
@Michigan Man 🍂 why though? If a country does something obviously better why is it such an outrage to say why cant we be like that
I'm a big fan of Denmark personally
Denmark ranks 11 places higher than the U.S on employment rate according to the OECD, they rank 6th on the world economic forum for education (quite higher than the U.S) and Denmark rates far higher than the U.S according to forbes as best places for business. And yes, the danish have taxes, they have no problem with they as the things that would economically bleed them dry in American e.g. healthcare and higher education is free, and you'll find no complaints from them on the matter @Michigan Man 🍂
And ultimately Denmark ranks 1st on the Quality of Life Index
Wish I did before Brexit tbh @Mcgoober
Would of made the trip easier
Oh you're absolutely right
I get 0 say on how your country runs
But I'm completely free to point out its obvious shortcomings
@Michigan Man 🍂 And whats the average population of a U.S state?
@SmokyCopCar Wasnt the idea of federalism designed to solve issues like that?
@SmokyCopCar yes, I'm aware I studied politics. Now we've established that the country is split into states with their own governments yet you play the card that the U.S cant achieve the same things Denmark achieves because of "population" despite the average population of the U.S states being that of roughly less than Denmarks population, and in a federal nation in which states hold the majority of power why are such things that Denmark has achieved deemed impossible to achieve in the U.S? It's not because its impossible its just cultural, Americans don't want to improve as in their mind they're perfect
They need constitutional grounds @Mcgoober
So long as a state doesnt violate any clauses or amendments they can do as they please
Thats true tbh, best do away with the constitution @Mcgoober
I mean we just established the constitution isnt followed and is interpretted to serve the interest of certain groups, fail to see how you can see that, explain that yet accept it none the less
Where did I say that @Michigan Man 🍂
Im from South Yorkshire? @Michigan Man 🍂
Agreed
@Michigan Man 🍂 I fail to see where I implied in anything that I said that I wanted to give power to California and New York to rule America? I believe the specific argument I was making was for more power to the individual states to govern themselves?
@SmokyCopCar its really not... rights are regularly violated in the U.S despite the existance of the constitution, equally the UK has no codified constitution and has the rights of its citizens and infact any human on British soil protected
Nah you're interpretting what I'm saying wrong, more like "The laws have failed, lets make new better ones"
You need guns to protect your rights? Is your country an anarchist warzone? @SmokyCopCar
I'm not saying you shouldnt have guns i support guns
@Michigan Man 🍂 I'm not as I mentioned
@SmokyCopCar I'm pretty sure your citizens have been overthrown before
@Michigan Man 🍂 I can shoot a criminal if hes attempting to use lethal force against me or another, again, I'm not attacking guns... I already said Im not...
@SmokyCopCar Wilmington Insurrection 1898
What subject?
You've literally invented an argument that im anti gun...
Tommy Robinson was arrested for being held in contempt? The same thing can happen in America
Interview?
He wasnt interviewing he was aggressively interrogating defendants in a trial
Thats not what interrogation means
Yes
Waterboarding would be torture
then it wouldnt be interrogating, it would be torture
Here in the UK we have a judicial system which involves not creating mobs to decide guilt or not
He was outside the courthouse interrogating defedanta without permission and livestreaming the footage online for people, that is interference in the judicial process and thats what he was charged with
A little history lesson, research the Bill Of Rights, not the American one, the British one of 1689, many of the rights which Americans claim only they have and the British dont have such as the aforementioned freedom from "cruel and unusual punishments" were outright taken from the British Bill of Rights, another right would be the right to bear arms, a part of the British Bill of Rights however decided that this old law should apply to arms of the time, thats why its very easy to own a musket or crossbow in Britain
The UK has a constitution, it however isnt codified like the U.S, the British constitution consists of numerous statute laws such as the aforementioned Bill Of Rights, the Magna Carta and even the 1998 Human Rights Act
@Froski no no... the rights still exist
Yes we can buy a gun
No we dont have no hate speech laws, and thankgod, hate speech isnt free speech
I do not believe that someone calling another person the n word and telling them to kill themselves should personally be allowed in a free modern society
Congrats you just solved racism @Froski
Big brain moment
We censor words like that on UK radio @isoboto
Allow me to explain it simply
Do you believe the police should exist ?
Why @KingZapapple
The entire idea that someone can imprison you for exercise your freedom of expression is insanity, isnt it?
But arent people free to do you physical harm? Isnt that their freedom of expression?
How isnt it? @KingZapapple
Thats your own personal interpretation
Yeah there is
But arent both expressions?
And when constant abuse promotes someone to kill themselves? @KingZapapple
I didnt mention speech on the matter of expression@Froski
Because both are freedom
Absolute freedom is freedom to do as you please, without police without government however any person with common sense will tell you that society cant function that way so some "freedoms" are violated as a means of protecting society and people, the principle is the same for speech, a tolerant society cannot function with blatant intolerance, discrimination and abuse
I'm familiar with the U.S constitution I studied it, I'm not talking about it as you should be aware seeing as freedom of expression isnt protected in the U.S by the constitution formally, it is in the UK however which we were talking about
Yet people still fly swastikas despite them being in the light for so long?
Freedom of Expression isnt written in the U.S constitution @KingZapapple
@SmokyCopCar where have I said anything thats wrong about the U.S constitution?
@Froski Swastikas are banned in the U.K, not the U.S
@KingZapapple that doesnt list the freedom of expression
You literally just said you've seen one @KingZapapple
@Mcgoober where did I say that
@KingZapapple I'm not saying Americans are Nazis, I established that when another person tried to make up an imaginary argument i was making
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-us-canada-53247757 because of things like this? Symbols of hate serve as nothing more than to create hate and division in a nation
Is a swastika considered an American political sign? @KingZapapple
Yeah no @KingZapapple
@Froski Yes, im anti communist
May be a cultural thing but I personally want no British soldier to fight for a Swastika
Fighting for the freedom to fly a swastika? Much better
Because in my country Swastikas are banned and apparently that means British people have no freedom of speech... @Mcgoober
Why? @Mcgoober
You banned Kids chocolates but think banning nazi symbols is stupid?
I love that argument that Americans make on matters of freedom
"What next what next what next, what if what if what if"
Any decision made apparently has the absolute possibility of leading to a dictatorship
Sadly the British have seen more, my apologies
@KingZapapple dont throw a tantrum whilst we're having a conversation
Theres a difference between questioning things and digging your head in the sand and sticking to purely ideology over pragmatism, I respect the notion of questioning authority but ultimately if you questioning everything continuously and never come to a conclusion you're doomed
@❄֍Winter Soul֍❄ American colonists had a considerable amount of freedom tbh
American colonies largely governed themselves throughout most of their existance, colonies had their own elected governers and formed their own constitution
@KingZapapple thats an overstatement tbh
There were no income taxes in those days, tariffs were how "Americans" were taxed, quotation marks because it wasnt taxes on Americans it was taxes on goods
