That's not the point. These crazy media influencers are such a small portion of the population that their opinions *should* be irrelevant. However, since they reach such a large number of people, their opinions are immediately validated by others. The problem is not so much "everyone who supports the BLM movement wants to harm white people" or "all socially-progressive Democrats are extremists," but that the select few people who occupy that group are allowed to influence so many others.

Plus, their main audiences are younger people who have an extremely idealistic view of the world and want to help everyone. Most have had a pretty easy life, take stuff for granted, and assume everyone should get what they have.
