The article touches on something that has become evident to many at this point: the man wants to keep his promises but he keeps relying on advisors who are against his agenda. If he had the political expertise to take charge of these things more directly I think we'd be a lot farther along with the necessary policy changes

I wonder if he could have drawn from the groups like the freedom caucus or tea party movement to staff his administration

Those people would have been much closer in ideology and they would have enough political experience to not be total outsiders
