@ZuidAfrikaner there is no need for a state to provide infrastructure, policing or military. I agree with @Sheamus As it stands, we pay taxes and see no benefit from those taxes. We pay for private security because the police force is woefully inept. Essentially paying twice for the same service. Private companies build the infrastructure, the state is merely an unnecessary middle man lining their pockets. The NHI is the next issue, it will destroy healthcare. And as it stands you’d be insane to not have a private medical aid so again, you’re paying twice for the same thing. And in all cases, the free market provides the better service, and a service people are happy to, for the most part, pay for. Tax is not a duty to your nation, taxation was first introduced to pay for a war effort in the American Civil War, prior to that there was no taxation and civilization made do.

Agreed, however, communities would naturally grow if left to their own devices. If a road is needed, someone would start a business and build the road, growth would happen. A government isn’t a prerequisite for there to be infrastructure, policing and so on.

@RobVZ exactly. I think you could make a case out of it. At the very least for some period of time and have it challenged in a court. In the meanwhile, the govt catches a bit of a wake up call.
