Seems weird to join a party that clearly has no intention to ever do anything but oposition.

2018-06-26 22:59:03 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

But I get that other parties are probably even further away from any sort of classical liberalism

2018-06-26 23:06:51 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

They seem like a one issue party, with a few loudmouths grabbing attention by being crass. But I'm not into British politics so I might be wrong. I wouldn't want to be associated with Farage at any rate, but Sargon seems to think he's a true Brit and a riot.

2018-06-26 23:07:46 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

But yeah, maybe since it's just a one issue party atm, they can steer it towards something more liberal

2018-06-26 23:07:59 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

They got the popularity I guess

2018-06-26 23:14:30 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

I'm pretty baffled that Sargon is on good terms with those 2. On a stream an hour ago he was praising PJW's ability to create counter-narritives and sort of praising him for getting away with lies, saying that's what politics about. Maybe I completely missed his sarcasm but if that's his idea of doing politics he's going to get caught on it. And yeah, Milo's an emberassment to have in a party, but he fits with folk like Farage I guess.

I'm pro using that youtube popularity to make possitive change, but I guess they're going into it to fight "the culture war"

2018-06-26 23:17:21 UTC [Subverse #newsroom]

And when you call it a war, all's fair

aussieAryan's going to revert back to being a criminal worth sending to a penal colony if we don't pressure him, it's in his genetic nature I'm sure

Made a Minds account today because of the Vietnam story

If it start deciding which posts don't matter to me or falls back on their free speech commitments, I'll be off there immediately. Not committing and waiting it out just tells the company that there's no audience for it

funny enough, Sweden had one of the whitest teams around

I assume it was just a demand of him, so they couldn't just wipe their mistake under the rug. Public apoligy

2018-09-12 19:05:32 UTC [Subverse #general]

It's been approved but they have to fit it into text. And I think there's still a choice on national level to adopt

2018-09-12 19:06:40 UTC [Subverse #general]

Sure, lemme pull up the article I read earlier and do a loose translation

2018-09-12 19:12:53 UTC [Subverse #general]

@Blackhawk342 I might've been wrong with national level. Though it could always be ignored on a national level, with the risk of fines from the EU though... " Today's vote is not the end of the story, though: every amendment approved today will have to undergo another round of behind-closed-doors negotiations between EU politicos and EU member states, before going again through a vote in January 2019 " is what's left to do... Not sure how much option for stopping it full stop is still there.

2018-09-12 19:15:06 UTC [Subverse #general]

I think the best we can hope for from member states is stalling tactics @Blackhawk342

Doesn't help it's the internet giants that are mostly championing the anti side, as they've been looking for leverage over them

2018-09-12 19:17:19 UTC [Subverse #general]

Alphabet, facebook and such

2018-09-12 19:20:48 UTC [Subverse #general]

I wouldn't say giving ownership over content is authoritarian. Might want to revise free use laws a bit to make them more applicable though

2018-09-12 19:23:37 UTC [Subverse #general]

Yeah, article 11 got approved too

2018-09-12 19:26:34 UTC [Subverse #general]

When it's taxes that are directed at mega corps, I'm open to them

https://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2018/06/26/breaking-down-the-new-eu-copyright-bill-article-11/ is a good article on it. Hyperlinking is allowed, it's the snippets like Zutt says

2018-09-12 19:35:04 UTC [Subverse #general]

They want google to pay for previews.... With the point to direct people to the article itself and hopefully read it, instead of just going by the headline :p Ofc that will never take because have you met people

Amazing how you can be so wrong and yet call other's retards in the same breath. A party left the gov over it, the biggest even, but the pm is still in place and the gov is standing.
