yea computers arent a thing in japan. and alot of people are computer illiterate by choice.

And that is a sore subject I can go on for a while.

Most westerners have the illusion that japanese people are very high tech. thats far from the true.

There's also an inhered distrust of automations and computers from the 80s financial meltdown. It has improved a bit, but you can still see an under current of it in the society

for example, credit cards were very uncommon until about 5-6 years ago. many merchants wouldnt accept card payments

China's only concern is nationalistic things. China doesnt really care what you talks about so long as you dont bad mouth them as a country, and make money
