= force
= "penetration"
a strong punch DOES go through kevlar, which is why blunt trauma is a thing
>and you're plain wrong, barrier penetration improves with mass, not speed
This is what I'm arguing against
fundamentally
barrier penetration improves with mass AND speed, as well as a hundred smaller factors like shape (not really relevant to this argument)
kek
a baseball thrown does not have enough energy to penetrate a wall generally speaking
a drop a cannon ball from 1y, now SHOOT the cannon ball at a wall with the same mass
mass x speed x speed
speed (velocity) is a lot more important than mass
which is why a few gram heavy bullet can REKK your body armor and kill you
as the long as the bullet is going SANIC FAST supersonic speeds
>you are losing muzzle Velocity.
I call bullshit
you might get no measurable improvement in muzzle velocity, but I find it VERY hard to believe you would lose muzzle velocity
for that to happen, the pressure from the atmosphere outside would have to be higher than that inside barrel
yeah but that requires an insane scenario where the barrel friction is equal to or greater than the pressure difference between a figurative gunpowder explosion and NTP
a simple way to visualize this:
does a 20'' have a muzzle flame?
actually no, that doesn't actually prove anything
as what you're firing might burn VERY slowly
THAT is a good argument in my favor
since you can't find a 20ยจ barrel, do you agree it could be because a 20ยจ barrel provides no benefit?
no measurable benefit over a Xยจlong barrel that is shorter
which one is optimal
obviously, if you use a 200ยจ barrel you will lose out
but I'm
really interested to hear what the breaking point is
assuming
>20" is a fairly normal "Rifle Length" Barrel across calibers
I'd hazard a guess and say 20" is close to optimal since weapon designers have a LOT of practice
I mean it could be 16" as has been mentioned ITT
or maybe it's 24 or 22
I really hate how that thing has like 10 frames in total
it really highlights what has gone wrong with anime
too commercialized, artistic expression has no room (outside of outliers like Miyazaki, who is really just a well payed ayuthor)) because now it's all about quick bux
anime wasn't always low budget, but I do agree it has effectively always been low budget
you have to go back to like the early 90's or earlier to successfully make the argument anime is NOT low budget crap
Aggretsuko is unironically the best anime this year
and it's fundamentally a Western cartoon
IMO, to emphasize
I don
don't want to watch old anime, I want to watch good movies
hm
that's...
not really the argument I'm aiming for, but I can definitely see that as being a projection of my argumert
let me try to rephrase and summarize::
new anime, post say 1995, in general, isn't very good
it sacrifices all the advantages it ever had, to the point where Western cartoons supercede it **generally** speaking
Anime is, in general, worse. <- Is my argument
I specifically chose the cutoff point in mid 90's, since you can definitely make the argument 70's anime is better than 70's cartoons
80's anime better than 80's cartoons
90's anime better than 90's cartoons... When viewed as a whole, looking at the entire industry... NOW you run into arguments
you just mentioned Gumball, it's been running for, what, 5 years? give or take? minimum 3 years but I'd hazard a guess and say 6 years
what anime comes even close to that?
if we take out the Big Guns, we get shit like MLP that has been running for some 160 22 minute episodes across 8 years
yeah that's what I was initailly getting at
>gumball's survived this long because it's a diamond in the rough
this is a very good point, and sort of what I've been aiming at
it's an actual diamond
it works, because it's that one specific pile of poo that happened to be "shiny", while most piles of poo DON*T shine and therefore fail
it's what anime used to do in the 80's, experiment and improvise
I'm sure
yeah of course
but what 201X's anime compares to Gumbal, MLP?
if you're using Overlord as part of your argument, I'm dismissing you outright. If you seriously hold this average junk over MLP or Gumball, I can't really present an argument, and we'll have to agree to disagree, note that this Is **entirely** subjective, as aside from the lizard sex I see no value in Overlord over say Gumball
oh of course not, just like liking it doesn't make it good
humm...
looking back, the greatest experience I've had with any anime comes in movie format, but that's sort of cheating, since the same is true for ALL animation, A movie, per hour invested, is *almost* always better than a series
looking to the last 20 years or so, my favorite anime have all been Westernized as fuck or highly experimental (or pandering to my fetishes). Panty & Stocking, Space Dandy, etc.
anime that specifically aim to break boundaries and attempt to me more experimental, ironically making them more"Western"
what's the appeal of Overlord, other than lizard sex?
first two seasons yes
it had nothing special aside from hawt lizard sex, so I gave up
now here's an interesting question:
why does a concept like Isekai even exist?
>wish fulfiment
So it's not about telling a compelling story, it's about you, the reader, not the story as told?
>the world sucks and people want to be in a different one for 25 minutes
That's absolutely fine, I fucking love Superhot and the universe makes no goddamn sense, but god DAMN does it satisfy my 25 minute itch
@Arch-Fiend that's fucking scary,. since I never mentioned Cowboy nor Bebop, but yes, Trigun hits at least my top 10 due to Westernized it is, but I do suspect in hindsight a lot of that is due to how Experimental it isd
seriously tho, how the fuck did you know cowboy beeepboop was one of my favorite anime?
^^
scanning the posts in my drunken state, whatsamanigga saoid that ,not I
yep
which is why I put it on par or even above a lot of western cartoons
even if I didn't say so
the 90's is still a shady era
and well... early 00's I suppose
it really depends on how far you stretch things
I really, **really** like Bounen nou Xamned, and that's early 00's
but again, I like it not because it's anime, I like it because it steps out of it's boundaries and experiments, like a Cartoon
*Burgerdom
do you even have freedom these days?
>dragon maid
See, I've watched several animes trying to sell themselves on a concept like this
it's simply not enough any more
is it a *literal* dragon or do they pussy out and make it a human "dragon"?
JoJo was never good
yeah, and it's a cheap as fuck excuse
if I watch it, will I get my *literal* dragon in a *literal* maid costume, or is it all a scam?
watch more Western cartoon, then you'll realize JoJo was always average, but it's never been good
you're talking to the fur police, not the fun police
does it have hot dragon maid action?
2/10 no fur
