but they didn't look into what "blackout" means. Since I didn't know either, I looked it up. Turns out it's a trend of sports fans or team memebers that wear all black or use black body paint.

they also try to say something about how there was no one painting themselves blue at the 'blue out' event. but there are pictures online of people doing "white out" where they paint themselves in all white.

The trend isn't even that old. I have an article from 2008 talking about it being new.

People are using this as "evidence" of their racism. But there are other articles online talking about how the trend was "raising specters" of blackface or racism, and the people who were doing this said they didn't honestly think about it until it was mentioned.
