Yep. That's why I started to ask you about which videos were strikes because I immediately presumed it was that one. That's why i mentioned Benjamin A Boyce and Graham Linehan in previous livestream voice open mic debates here. Transgender people need all of our support to live their lives being true to themselves, transgender activists, on the other hand, are the pinnacle of the whole woke cancel culture gone rogue and are vicious in their retribution, ruining careers and livelihoods with no remorse, and then there are the grifters who find a perfect place to hide in all that. Women were the first to be targeted, now they want the men too, and genuine transgender people are being thrown under the bus to do it. Trans Rights Activists are in power (Twitter, YouTube, corporations) pretending they are the powerless and you and I are the oppressors.
Imho natch.
@dogbref do you know why?
Oh good @kcon415! I haven't watched most of his stuff about the trans comunity because tbh I needed a break from the war, and I have conflicted opinions about one or two of his guests (Posy Parker, for example) which would colour my ability to listen without prejudice, but the bits I've seen seem to be a positive way of progressing, as seems to be his M.O. with everything. So respect is due to him.
I think @ThePangburn would find Graham Linehan good to talk to. I may be wrong, but he has been at the frontline of this war of ideas re trans activism the past couple of years and is no fool, no coward, and an inspiration in many ways, despite his often bull-in-a-china-shop approach.
Yes!
And so brave.
No Father Ted is. Black Books is second but Dylan Moran is a genius in his own right!
There was a table quiz, pub quiz, (you may use different terms for them?) last year where the question was about Father Ted and the organisers cancelled Linehan from the answer so that the correct reply was that only his co-creator Arthur Matthew's had written it. And all the woke people cheered. The idea is much like the statue removals, ie we are unilaterally rewriting history ....Orwellian much?
I think Father Ted is bizarre the first time you see it, and then suddenly you get it and it's too good to describe and becomes ingrained in life. Incidentally, Fawlty Towers was badly received on its first showing, people didn't get it at first.
But in my opinion, Father Ted was a contributor to the break away from Catholic control Ireland managed to start.
Which makes it culturally important even if you dont find it funny.
Thank you!
The infamous second meeting
All the hip kids will be at the first meeting
No how? ๐
Oh I'm panicking about book club I'm checking for wine.
PANGBURN is writing a song on livestream YouTube, should not be missed guys.
This satirical show satirised the media's obsession with paedophiles. It was received ( even before it aired) as being wickedly perverted because it showed paedophilia, or because it endorsed paedophilia (it didnt). Correlates to your points about Cuties in voice chat atm.
Oh sorry @ThePangburn I didn't realise it might do that. UK programme that's all.
I guess
AI
@ThePangburn
Men Only discussions just means Michaela and I shall be having Women Only discussions in a next door room @m.miller
I hate all women;)
Ok I'm going to look for women for a one off special....watch this space.
Yes!
I'm announcing a girl only meeting in the after show voice chat in 10 mins.
That is, I'm announcing it now and it happens in 10 mins and there are no showers involved!
@drenath found one ๐ง
First girlpower meeting going very badly. No one turns up! Sigh.
๐๐๐
I'm intrigued by the conversation. Also by the mystery of who this greatest thinker is!
Men: how can you explain this behaviour: I (a woman) had an altercation with a man yesterday in which he persistently tried to make out I was physically assaulting him somehow while in fact he was physically assaulting me. (Assaulting being a broad technical term rather than actual punches etc, although I do have a bruise to show for it).
Ok. First explanation is he is a prick, and maybe I am too. Let's take that as a given. We were both being jerks.
But on top of that, he was vastly larger than me and more powerful, (even though I'm not small, he was huge), and although we are not being sexist anymore in our lovely 2020, isnt there still some rule that a really big bloke should not try to physically move a woman that's standing in his way even if she's annoying the hell out him?
Men: would you walk away or persist like a Football/Rugby player?
He was a prick.
Sames.
Yes. Me yesterday. I made my neighbour take photos of the bruise in case evidence was ever needed. I dont want to fill up this thread with the whole thing but just want to know if men could explain why he felt ok to treat my like that physically. He considered that I shouldn't have touched his bike, but I pushed it away after he rode it over my foot.
I began the disagreement btw, but verbally, I told him not to ride on the pavement but to get on the road.
Correct k
But I didn't move out of his way so he could get past.
Sure, but I hate bullies so....I did not.
I just felt he was "fighting" me as a man might fight a man. I'm really surprised!
Is it because I want being feminine in my "fight"? I just gave back as good as I got as far as I was able.
Wasn't
Yes
@BobbyMack he could have gone several other ways, it was a battle of wills. Any sane person would have just gone on the road as asked or used the opposite pavement and called me names.
Nope @Smoke but it might be great. Do you think you/we do?
That was just one day @BobbyMack and I apologised afterwards. Sheesh, such a cry baby.
Why didn't we have a Daniel Dennet Appreciation Day? Does no one here rate him much?
For @ThePangburn I thought you might like this song (if you don't already know it) - If the song you were writing livestream the other day was part of a musical, I think this one would be from the same musical.

Hi @Yussuki โช - is the shadow question a thought experiment or is it a real event in your life?
I feel this would be a great voice chat!
Cooperation is not tyranny.
So is prevention of serial murderers roaming free. Some rules are required in society. Naked park rambles...
Lol
Once you concede some rules are required you concede there is an argument for making rules about masks and calling some rule you dont like "tyranny" requires a lot of proof. You must prove masks do not help.
No, I called the mask wearing, and rule making, cooperation.
JP needs to prove masks dont help if wishes to prove tyranny rather than cooperation.
Nobody voted for a lot if things. Most things aren't voted in.
I dont know about the specific rule you are living under JP, but where I am we must wear masks in specific situations and it's because we are trying to stop a virus causing people to be sick and die and stuff while also trying to live our lives a little bit. Most people cooperate. Those who dont are rare and will be subject to some sort of penalty because the best knowledge we have available at the moment is that masks can help.
Lol
Important question: how do you pronounce diplodocus?
No.
Rape is a poor analogy. In fact, I dont think it is one at all tbh.
No @brucebruce no!
> @ola exactly how you think you would.Dip-Lowe - Docus
@T2the2ndpowr I learnt it as hocus pocus I'm a dip luh DOE cuss, but then people started saying dih PLOD ih cuss
@T2the2ndpowr I think they'll regret that. Naked dinosaurs are like sphinx cats - ugly.
You seem familiar.
Maybe we went to school together or something.
OMG why do I always leave doing my homework to the last minute? Ffs.

> Sorry if I'm late to the party, but is everyone here familiar with Unity2020? I'm curious about any support or criticism ya'll might have
@Rae312
I think it is a noble idea, I'm sure everyone can pick holes in it but I'm more interested to know if anyone here supports the idea?
I'm not American so don't count, but for what it's worth I think it's a great idea that is unlikely to work more than once. But maybe once is all you need to break the cycle?
> It is a thought experiment I presented @StoneCold316 with. The term "Shadow" refers to something with width and depth (3D) resembling the deformed volume of a roughly 6ft, 300 pounds (183cm/130kg) person. Entirely black and shining like shining quartz. Apart from the thought experiment, coincidence has it that the happening can be confirmed by all the people involved, including myself, as witnesses. There aren't any consistencies as far as the testimonials are concerned. However, I am still reluctant to call it a real event, although I kind of feel that way. I still reserve my right to be wrong and call it mass / group hallucination even if 6 different people were involved + 2 other standing observers who can confirm on the behavior of the 6 involved (they saw the 6 moving , but they couldn't see what they were up to, because their field of view prevented them from seeing the mysterious "object". They were doing chores at the neighboring house. @ola
@Yussuki โช
So I'm still a bit confused, I think you're saying it happened but you aren't asking anyone to believe it, just to treat it as thought experiment?
But I'm fascinated if it really happened and would like to hear more about it sometime. Maybe a voice chat will cover such unexplained phenomenon one day.
I believe it. Until you say different.
I asked God to produce the Aurora Borealis on demand, to show he is real perform a miracle of my choice, and it wasn't a hard one. He answered that the entire planet and everything on it was a miracle. He had a point.
The planet earth and you and everything inbetween is the miracle. Apparently.
Apes are notoriously bad at giving straight answers.
Correct! Consider the lillies.
We may have to give in and have a whole week of Free Will discussions. ๐ฑ
@StoneCold316 > We can choose not to indulge free will, right ๐
@StoneCold316
Can we?
Yes I know! But still...
Did anyone here ever read The Diceman by Luke Rheinhardt
Yeah its hard to read full pages since they invented small posts and fighting.
I love fighting.
Apparently.
Lol!
It is not quite true that we didn't know how (or rather if) influential nature was. Mothers have been saying it for generations.
You mean you think Bret is feeding his own ego? I think he's deadly serious.
(What do you mean by flexing his tenure? Does he have tenure?? After Evergreen surely he isn't messing around?)
Right. But he won't want to risk looking like a fool either, so serious enough to make a positive / respected difference, I'd guess.
