The thing is, you're not authoritative. You should never let someone create our insert their own definitions into an argument.

Who or what determines what words mean?

Do most dictionaries not include a detailed etymology?

What about the ones that are not wrong or incomplete?

I'm guessing we can agree that those would be authoritative. Coincidentally, that would include both the Oxford and Merriam Webster. Both comprise of large organizations and reviewed by professors in their field.

Hence why we use them.

Hence why every debate organization in the world uses them.

It avoids time consuming and unproductive semantical arguments that would otherwise be insurmountable.
