Actual shelf life of different foods http://www.eatbydate.com/

Lol just saw read this on some random website "Not only is red wine high in antioxidants and a heart-healthy compound called resveratrol, but bottled red wine can last for 2-3 years unopened. "

Im ready for the end

37.000kcal for 4โ‚ฌ holy shit

Just buy 405 flour. You can get 1kg for 40cents at your local supermarkt

Mix with beer and you have bread

Will be good for 2 years. Probably 3 years if you store it airtight and all that

beer is made from yeast so it contains some

itll be denser but itll be bread

just get some vodka, brown food coloring and water instead

The Baofeng uv 860 was just released. It should be exactly like the original uv 5r, same price, same performance, same everything but a few things have improved

2020-02-25 20:14:29 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

It can be charged directly, the battery is 50% larger and you can charge it without a charging stand. Thats it.

2020-02-25 20:15:20 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

So I recommend you get that (22$ shipping included) and a cheap 2$ nagoya NA-771 antenna

2020-02-25 20:20:23 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Some other baofengs claim to be higher wattage - thats a plain chink lie. They do not perform better. Also a "triband" baofeng will be useless - Nobody uses the additional 220-260MHz range and itll be plaqued by distortions from digital tv and uncomprehensable digital intereference of every kind.

2020-02-25 20:22:02 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

If you want to make international or worldwide communication you will a transceiver for the lower frequencys (30mhz) as they bounce of the ionosphere and thus over the horizon and around the world. The ubitx is the cheapest option starting at 100$. It can be operated from a 12v battery

2020-02-25 20:22:21 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

@Pepito Well you speak into it, the signal is send out as a 4w fm signal

2020-02-25 20:22:52 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Gives you 10-100km range depending on the severity of obstruction

2020-02-25 20:23:53 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

in very rare instances and under special weather conditions (sporadic f) youll get over the horizon distances (read a few hunderd kilometers) in a random direction.

2020-02-25 20:26:20 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Oh and for extra bonus points you can connect it to your phone or computer and use that as a modem. Enabling you to send text and data at up to 1000 bit per second

2020-02-25 20:31:34 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

I hope youre not using the stock antenna

2020-02-25 20:33:25 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Just connect it.

2020-02-25 20:33:39 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

I mean, if its not diy itll just work

2020-02-25 20:36:41 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

There are many different types of antenna for frequencys and use , required spectrum and portability over range

2020-02-25 20:37:10 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

But for your standard 2m fm transceiver theres not much you need to look out for

2020-02-25 20:37:58 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

This is especially true for something like the baofeng uv 5r or similar

2020-02-25 20:45:44 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Well if you desperatly need to save 6$ over a uv 5r / 860. Wouldnt recommend it though as itll have difficulty transmitting through a forest due to the limited uhf frequency and halfed power

2020-02-25 20:46:22 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

At that price point you might aswell get the BF-T3 lol

2020-02-25 20:46:33 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

serious though

2020-02-25 20:55:11 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

But all the other "high powered" are rebranded uv 5r with same output

2020-02-25 20:56:37 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

*transmit on

2020-02-25 20:57:32 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

wattage isnt an issue for the free max 0.5 watt walkie talkie frequencys . Goverment seals are

2020-02-25 20:58:22 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Transmit.

2020-02-25 20:59:28 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Not that anyone will notice on the lpd 433 or pmr446 bands (walkie talkie freqency) though. Especially if you use low power mode. Itll be indistinguishable

2020-02-25 21:14:04 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

That looks to be the same as the 20$ uv-5r. Dont buy its a ripoff

2020-02-25 21:14:27 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Well it supports digital i guess

2020-02-25 21:15:41 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

If you absolutly insist on dmr buy ive read good stuff about this version https://www.radioddity.com/products/radioddity-x-baofeng-rd-5r-dmr-ham-amateur-two-way-radio

2020-02-25 21:16:23 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Keep in mind that these digital radioes are not encrypted as you might believe

2020-02-25 21:17:17 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

If you want that the only way, and very illegal at that would be to either shell out 1000$ for a commercial one or connect your 20$ uv-5r to your android phone and send encrypted pgp messages over it. Dont do that until after the apocalypse though

2020-02-25 21:22:59 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

>TL;DR; for everyone else. Buy ubitx (starting at 100$) for international com. Buy baofeng 860 (22$) + nagoya 771 antenna (2$) for 10-100km range.

For all European Corona preppers. Found a website which sells quality masks for 10โ‚ฌ a piece https://www.distrelec.de/de/particulate-respirator-valved-ffp3-3m-8835/p/30099777?q=ffp3+valved&pos=1&origPos=1&origPageSize=10&track=true

2020-02-26 20:36:47 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

@bear market Liar. I listen in on my local repeater which is behind a hill/forest and 22km away. Readable with practically no difficulty

2020-02-26 20:45:42 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

@UncleDrMrBaby I dont recall trying that or if it worked from behind the hill. But Line of sight will always work. If there is no obstruction between you you can reach it, always - even with low power. Thats why you can reliable communicate with the ISS with your baofeng and the proper antenna. In fact you are advised to use the low power setting for that

2020-02-27 00:25:52 UTC [Competitive Eating #comms-radio]

Train for the basic license @shazoooo

Yeah just get a petling like a normal human beeing for 10cents jeez these tactical survival whatevers will buy anything

44$ holy shit

13$ shipping

wow

And with a website like this you know they are not screwing around

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/673111070554062848/682384626358026276/unknown.png

For that money you can buy 2 transceivers to transmit pgp messages with

looking for the cheapest rifle avaiable for a europepoor. Should be precise enough up to 300m

used of course

any suggestions?

I'd like to put a 4x scope on it

I have been eyeing with the mosin for a bit

K31 would be neat but 600โ‚ฌ is not cheap at all.

I think I'll look into .22lr since 7.62 is about 1โ‚ฌ per bullet here in germany

Holy shit 5000 22lr rounds for 140$ in america wtf thats insane

Yeah those bigger calibres are nice and all but in the end Id just shoot an airgun if its that costly

I think youd piss your pants if someone points a 22lr at your vital organs (especially if there is no 911)

Thats plenty defense

also a weapon is useless if you cant shoot properly

Also god beware if Id actually have to resort to guns here in germany Id already have the upper hand as noone has any weapons here

Well it is if youre running around in dirty clothes, starving trying to scavenge something and it punctures any organ of your choosing with no proper medical staff to help you for hundreds of miles around.

I mean its no 20mm but that doesnt look too good

Who the fuck has body armor in europe

Well if its not ceramic i could always run back into my house and grab the crossbow, cock it, run back out, aim for a few seconds and hope he doesnt move too fast

Yeah that russian utilitarian engineering is something different

did you know that during ww2 russia produced over 30 t34 tanks daily for a few months?

daily

43 tanks daily during 1943

thats just fucked

Looking for that video of the doctor/biological prof or something talking about why corona might be engineered and what parts its made of

Never thought it was possible but, I wrote up a summary about everything you need to know about corona and how its going to affect our daily lives and economy no questions asked in the very near future

Now my extended family is prepping

sweet

very surreal sight

@Dad Yeah when it gets airborne

What would happen to a disposable n99 filter effectivness if I drench it in alcohol for cleaning

Get flour, make pizza, cakes and bread. 10โ‚ฌ = 20.000kcal

+compact storage

More importantly get some bacteriazide/disifectant spray and maybe disposable gloves while you still can

and leave some for the others

@Lizard Get supplies in this order and get them right fucking now. P3 rated masks (n99,p100 or if youre in europe ffp3 - n95 isnt as safe as a n99 but it will protect you good)
