Hopefully Sargon won't run for office. It's not likely to achieve that much. He certainly has no chance of being elected. Nigel Farage couldn't even get elected. UKIP is a pressure party, they won't actually get into power; they just pose an interesting dilema for bigger parties if they can carve out enough of the vote - which obviously works to influence policy because Brexit happened.

It's possible, but arguing with 'real life' leftists regularly, I rarely get that impression. In that circumstance, it seems more like they think their views - regardless of how 'extreme' - are self-evident and quite neutral, and everything opposing them is extreme. So if the academics are the same, then it's also self-delusion.
