hey so in Washington State we had to vote on an initiative that would make it a felony not to have a gun locked up in a safe in one's own home

how do you guys feel about it

yeah I thought it was a no-brainer, and I don't even like shooting guns. I went to shoot at a range and it was pretty uncomfortable imho. However, I realize that forcing people to have guns locked in a safe in their home defeats the purpose of self defense

yes, the gun initiative in washington state only makes it easier to prosecute gun owners, it doesn't do anything to stop gun violence at all.

by forcing gun owners to keep rifles locked up in safes doesn't help at all. the vast majority of gun violence is with hand guns and even then they're illegally obtained. it's fucking stupid

the thing is, the law makes it a felony offense in our state if a cop finds it not locked up

my theory is that people in cities are more diverse, and so the left's identity politics are very easy to land there
