I was writing and creating media before I became a single parent. I think that's why I don't feel like I'm contributing enough. But yeah, I understand what you're both saying.

Anyone own a springfield xd-s in 9mm?

Is it one you'd recommend? I'm looking for a smaller concealed carry weapon. So far I'm thinking about the Ruger lc9s and the Springfield xd-s. Trying to find a balance between low price and quality.

Online, the price difference is about $20. The .45 was my first choice since I already own a 1911. But...9mm is cheap and easier to handle, or so I've read. As for the ergonomics, that's what's been drawing me to the xd-s.

The only thing that bothered me, from the reviews I've read, is that the grip only allows for two fingers without using the basepad on the clip. Is that true? And how does it fare shooting like that?

No, I just meant that when I go to pull my little makarov out of my waitband, the bottom inch and half or so of the grip is what allows me to remove it without having to dig it out.

Seems like having a shorter grip might make that a bit harder.

Springfield armory is running a special right now if anyone is interested. If you purchase one before may (I think), they'll send you an extra 4 mags and a holster for it. At least that's what I was told.

I've a question regarding the FBI. Last week someone had mentioned that they were flagged by the FBI while trying to purchase a firearm, any idea how one finds out whether or not they've been flagged?

I am currently purchasing. It's been almost two weeks and no word. Except from the local PD who informed me that the check went through 3 days after it came in.

I know, that's why I wanted to know if there was some sort of channel to go through. I took down the number for the FBI, but I really don't want to call them. Lol

I already talked to them twice along with the local PD. They informed me that they were waiting on the FBI. So...I guess I'm gonna have to hassle the FBI. lol

That's what they keep telling me. I was under the impression that you had to pass the check before they can give you a firearm. Regardless of how long you're waiting for said check to come back.

I had already been waiting 3 weeks for a background check when I finally called them and cancelled...after a brief argument. Then I went over to another local shop and paid for the same pistol and had it out after 6 days. Seems that Sportsmans favors the fed over the gun owner.

Yeah. Needless to say, I'm pursuing a personal vendetta against the chain. Lol

You know, and they called me last week to tell me I could come pick up the gun I had canceled.

I've been through that twice, including child custody hearings, and I have to say that I tried my hardest both times to keep the family together. It's hard to find people who hold out values.
