Did blonde backtrack on her comments regarding Peterson? I stopped listening the past couple weeks because that was the most alt right bullshit ive heard come from her mouth. Feel bad not listening to matt, but I canโt listen to someone say that someone else who put their career on the line for 2 years straight in defense of western values is โno use to us anymoreโ because he made some ill informed tweets
Unsubbed her after 2 years of following as well
Not playing these ideological games
What
It was in the context of a string of like a hundred tweets iirc and he later admitted it wasnโt a good idea to tweet that
Heโs a Canadian psychologist looking into american politics and making bad judgements i admit
Cause you would know. Arent you still a teenager?
Regardless of what you all think of Peterson, Iโd rather take his side than agree with blondes horseshoe bullshit
Constantine trying to undermine all of Petersonโs work with a casual comment even though heโs basically a kid
I wont claim to be for โyourโ version of western values then
Lol
In regards to last night's podcast, as someone who is passionate about Russian history and classical music, and follows several Russians who show what normal life in Russia looks like, Blonde calling it a 'shitty vodka drinking country' hurt bad... I can't even watch this podcast anymore smh. Sorry Matt
@Deleted User Russia supports traditional western values which Blonde gets wet for, that was an unwise move, and she's just displaying overwhelming ignorance and frankly sounded like a leftist with that statement.
I've been watching the podcast since episode 0, probably before most people here even knew about them, and I could tell she was genuine with that comment
nova Idc about your shitpost replies
I only bring this up because the last time I watched the podcast, 2 months ago, she threw Jordan Peterson under the bus for a pretty bad misunderstanding on Jordan's part, but she gave him 3 strikes in 1 and said 'he's no use to *us* anymore'. That was the most idealogical thing I've heard her say in 2 years. He just went on Joe Rogan, and sure enough everyone still likes him. I see why she wants to revoke the 19th. Even she knows she's a stupid emotional woman incapable of logical thought
nova's dumber than blonde lmao
guessing you're 15-16? just got into politics nova?
that's primitive shitposting
exactly, to sidestep discussion
simpleton
lol
I've been listening to her and matt since summer 2016 dude
I didn't just come in and toss her opinions away because I don't know her
is this seriously all you guys are capable of? reducing my comments down to simplified greentext because you can't form a response to my points?
sad
blocked you nova because you're adding nothing
just 'i know u r but what am i' level responses
You summarised someones comments in an ineffective way just to make them sound dumb, and are incapable of actually having a discussion
anyone actually want to address my points, rather than summarise the way I went about commenting my points?
would be nice
I'm shitting on blonde, and you guys can't even address anything I said, only that I was being emotional (somehow?) which adds nothing to discussion
nova thinks everything revolves around feelings, not logic, shows how insecure and inexperienced he is with life
just letting you know Blonde is falling out of line from my perspective. Jordan Peterson vehemently defends western values and does everything he can to encourage people to better their lives, and she gives him 1 strike, and he's out of our *group*. Russia also defends western values, and is a lot better than the MSM, which I can assume we all hate, say it is, but Blonde repeats exactly what leftists say about it, 'shitty vodka drinking country'
maybe I'm overreacting to the latter, but I'm telling you after 2 months of taking a break, that was literally the first thing I heard when I clicked on the podcast
and I know many of nice people from Russia
Ik and I loved it for the most part, but the JP and Russia thing, yikes
Since JP is a canadian, he was engaging with Bret Weinstein iirc about Kavanaugh and made a mistake about suggesting he step down to avoid the controversy. That might as well have been a hundred strikes for Blonde, and she* tossed him into the bin with one sentence
So I just sort of stopped 10 minutes after that moment
and didn't come back until now
true
their history has been so messy from revolution to present day because of their relationship to Europe
but the entire country isn't based on villages full of vodka soaked drunks
I blocked him lol
@Deleted User Should I just get back into it anyway? it just didn't help that I skipped through last nights podcast and that was the first thing I heard in 2 months lmao
I watched every one live up til a couple months ago. And also remember all the soundbytes in the intro of the call in show the night they were recorded
voice chat?
Lol I see nova is still insisting the only way to have a discussion is claim the other person is doing nothing but crying
Shit I realized I'm a patron haven't asked for the patron flair
I think April this year or something
I didn't mean it literally jesus, you actually hung onto that one word this whole time?
Matt doesn't have to apologize for shit
I realize it was a bad decision to choose the words 'that hurt bad'
I didn't realize everyone would latch on to them that hard
I just said that because I study russian culture and follow many Russians in my time outside of watching political videos
Blonde's ideal family dynamic is like a typical nice Russian family lmao
that's me calling her a hipocrite
they're shitty vodka drunks, not nice western value upholding people
but vodka drinking implies the citizens no?
it's just a cheap blow since many other countries have problems with alcoholism
I guess
I spend all my time on the Phish discord (profile pic is the bass player) so I never pay attention to this one
nova was trying to make it a fight
Still, nothing she would say for 2 straight years bothered me even in the *slightest* bit. But since I'm a big follower of JP and went all the way to DC just to see and meet him, her saying he's no use to *us* was like... wtf Blonde
I'm not taking away listeners.. I'm pointing out hiposcrisy resulting from a kneejerk response
@Chump_or_Champ I get that we should criticize his tweets obviously, but "1 strike and you're out of our group, pal" is too much for me
hahaha yeah
No I'd just send her a professional email and see if she even responds
rip
superchat then maybe
What 'alt righters battle' lol
I was mad at Blonde for a couple things and got the whole discord riled up
I just got mad at her casual 'russia is shit' comment
I don't focus much on the politics because it's no where near as dramatic
I follow a channel called 'Real Russia' and he posts daily videos of actual life in Russia
and I'm just obsessed with the classical music. Like Tchaikovsky, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev etc
It seems like they respect history more than a lot of the west
I listen to those composers, Beethoven, Chopin and the jam band Phish
I posted my edit of Stravinsky's Petruska by the bolshoi ballet and it has 120k views
Yeah it's intimidating. I'm 3 years in to my deep dive into classical, and still haven't even strayed from the 10 most widely known composers
I've listened to a bit of the Russian Rules History Podcast
good so far
not a book guy tbf
Only books I read are composer biographies. And music score books I guess
uh oh
*floods you with a tsunami of music*
Jk. Iโll post an accessible great piece from Rachmaninoff, Scriabin and Chopin
https://youtu.be/4Bqp2C098UI this piece describes the spirit of heroic individualism as it first started to arise in the mid 19th century, which also accompanied nationalism. Many would agree that Chopin might be the most important figure for Polandโs cultural identity
https://youtu.be/ikTkMaPyZWM Rachmaninoffs 1st concerto is greatly overshadowed by the 2nd and 3rd but itโs a perfect concerto, and the pianist is just amazing
https://youtu.be/7XGyWcuYVrg?t=20m59s Scriabins 2nd piano sonata is only 2 movements, and the first is very calm and reflective and has an epic middle section, and the second is fast paced and quite dark
That video contains 3 different performances of the same piece. The time stamped one is the best imo
@RoadtoDawn and I thought I was being outsider friendly ๐ฃ Still top tier pieces
a concerto is basically a 3 movement piece with a full orchestra centered around a single instrument playing as a soloist
Yh the problem is itโs a whole field of study that hasnโt really been active in the past 50 years in regards to new *actually* famous composers
So people kind of shy away from it because of how complex it is but also because it seems outdated
But its still high quality art that relates to life in every way
Postmodernist works lol
People like xenakis
And game soundtracks. Like jeremy soule with skyrim
