โAll minoritiesโ, by which they mean all people who belong to a racial minority in the United States. Thatโs partly why I hate the word โminorityโ as itโs used in modern political vernacular. Guess what; everyone is some type of minority! We are religious minorities in the United States, since there is no religion that can claim over 50% of the population (imo, the various Christian sects are different religions, with many shared teaching but many that differ radically). Depending on the state you live in, you may be a political minority. You may be taller or shorter than the national average, and thereby be a minority in either camp, or be the average height and be in the minority of those exactly that tall.
This is precisely why identity politics doesnโt work; painting a scenario where the โminorityโ needs to fight against an oppressive majority can be literally applied to any category, and once that majority is defeated, you move onto the next category, until no one is left.
