Most of it is due to trauma, and they use food as a comfort
Im just going off of the observation from the show. I can very well be wrong too
"But Im just big boned"
There's also a study that links poverty to obesity as well
In the US that is
I can try and find it later
You know whats also expensive? Healthcare to treat all the issues caused by obesity. You know who pays for that? We do because of Obama care.
Im gonna go with @Lolibattlemachine on this tbh
A bag of rice isnt expensive
Beans? Not expensive
A portion of fried chicken that covers ONE meal can pay for 2-3 portions worth of food in some cases
@MechMage because 1. Cheap food is easily accessable (fast food)
2. It takes time to cook
3. People are poorly educated
Fries are $1 at McD
I think some state wanted to enroll people automatically when they applied for a drivers license. That couldve been CA. I know I was specifically asked if I wanted to register to vote when I got my license
Which ofc I had to decline to since Im not a citizen and therefore dont have a right to vote
@uncephalized letting illegals vote in federal elections is still illegal, regardless if the state wants to allow it or not
But ofc its CA and they tend to do whatever the fuck they please anyways
@uncephalized 14th and 15th Amendment
15th explains that citizens are allowed to vote. 14th explains who is a citizen
This is for federal elections only. Not local and state
@uncephalized Np. Im required to know my rights/responsibilities as a non citizen
I qualify for citizenship next year. Which yes, Im going to apply for.
Id be stupid to not wanna be a citizen of this country
Im originally from Sweden, married to an american. Been here since 2016 :)
Thank you! Im well prepared.
It also helps that Im a criminal justice major, so having knowledge of the constitution is pretty emphasized lol
Forensics, but I still have to have a criminal justice foundation
Well, the program Im going for is criminal justice with specialization in forensic science
My husband works in law enforcement
We just wanna do good by our community. Even if we live in a liberal shithole right now
@clubfrills Im outside of Seattle. I feel you.
Thank you! I really love this country and definitely feel like I have more rights and liberties here than in shithole Sweden
Im in the same spot. Ive been a fan of Blonde since late 2016 and then started listening to the show like... a year ago?
Joined the server today
@clubfrills Well, Sweden doesnt have an aggressive constitution like America does.
Free speech is non existant.
Income tax up the asshole
Socialized healthcare is garbage and the waiting is long.
High rape rate.
No right to self protection
Extremely strict gun laws
And everyone is a super left leaning liberal
Yeah fuck the EU too
"Homo milk"?๐
I mean if you can impeach someone based on hearsay then I guess you can impeach anyone who gets accused of misconduct.
Unless you're a democrat, then rules dont apply to you
*cries in Washington state*
Thats fucking crazy, "illegal alien" is a legal term used by the federal government
The cucklord
White fever is absolutely a thing in Asia
Cause they want mixed race kids
Id love to see if someone reacts to a tshirt that says "Stalin did nothing wrong" and compare that to someone wearing a Maga hat
Except he didnt kill the commies... he killed the farmers
I wanna blame Pinochet tbh
He didnt have enough helicopters :/
Smdh
I cant wait for Trump to win again and have that liberal cry reel play all over again
Bless
She's 16
Tfw mixed race
Im half asian
Half white
Im decent lol
Ive noticed that about Tim Pool as well. He says he disagrees with conservatives on basically everything... But then wants a traditional relationship that conservatives are promoting
You really notice in the videos where his principles and what he actually wants are conflicting with each other because he starts rambling semi incoherently and there's not really a point
"I need to state my views but Im not sure if I actually support them anymore and now its hard to make a compelling argument"
I cant be the only one who has noticed that
Little beanie man
Except that he contradicts himself
He just dont want to admit that he agrees with some conservative ideas
Its like that jeopardizes his entire label as a liberal
I just think its funny that he is clinging onto the liberal label for dear life.
Like dude, its fine to be a liberal *and* agree with some conservative ideas. Instead he mentions in several videos that he disagrees with conservatives on virtually everything, I find that dishonest
He's clinging onto a label
I mean he can still be a liberal (identifying with liberal ideas) and not identify with the screeching liberal group. Sorta like Dave Rubin I guess.
I havent followed Dave Rubin in a long time so I could be wrong
"BUT IM A CLASSICAL LIBERAL"
He took a sharp turn after he left TYT iirc
I remember him saying at some point (I think it was an interview with Candace Owens?) that he still supports public schools and that the government should still provide those type of services
I dont understand how anyone can support public schools considering how much they fail their students academically
I mean common core, no student left behind, the focus on standardized testing instead of actually teaching them useful things
Now, I must admit that I havent attended public school (except for college which Im currently in) in the US so I dont have personal experience with the system, and am only going off from what my husband and other americans have told me
I can totally see that @devpav
From the limited research Ive done (and by talking to friends who homeschool), academically private schools and homeschools excel
Oh yeah it definitely requires full effort on the behalf of the parent to make sure that their kids also gets to develop socially and learn how to work with other kids.
But its also great because as a parent, you learn quickly what works and doesnt work for your child when it comes to learning
And you can put effort into really developing and advancing those skills with your child
Yup
Ofc not
Can I also say that I think it's unwise for the government to teach kids about the government lmao
Tell me about it.
The hardest pill to swallow I guess is that YOU are responsible for your own actions and choices
I feel like that is something that is getting lost with all the generations since baby boomers
"Healthcare is a mess, lets give all that responsibility to the government cause they will sort it out for us"
Yeah have fun waiting 2 years for your elective surgery
For real
Those who give up liberty for safety deserves neither
Yuuuup
"Its fine if I give up a little bit of my freedom of speech, I get free healthcare and free education in return"
- your average swede
Im glad **I** left that place
Oh definitely
God forbid you want your kids to have a stable parent at home to strengthen your family ties and dynamics
Its not like that has a huge impact on a childs early developement
I love how single moms get triggered on reddit on r/relationshipadvice
You can always tell which ones are too. Every time.
So empowered. So stunning and brave.
Sad.
I grew up with a single mom. Wasnt exactly a walk in the park
I feel like single moms are getting way more praise than a lot of them deserve
They're always so "brave"
You're not brave for getting knocked up by a gangbanger who is going to prison and already has 3 baby mamas. That makes you a fucking idiot
