gift economy may prevail

There is a voting structure and of course militia men

Federation politics assist unifcation

trading occurs on the commune level

Gift economy presupposes no currency

Why would it?

Bartering, Gift Economy, and Communal Living make it a non factor

No reason to give things value when the commune works together

Value is purely subjective

Trade necessitates on Marx's axiom "to each according to their need, from each according to their ability"

No, just what needs to be done or what one wants to do

They wouldn't recieve anything

They would work in a syndicate doing whatever they wanted to do, live in a home they have either built or occupied; communally or alone

No in a capitalist system you have to work for money, in an anarchist system you work for whatever you want

Without a state, you are ultimately responsible for yourself

But it is hopeful that you would want to help the community around you

Teaching would be ad hoc

Or live in communal housing or work with a group of people and form your own residential syndicate and build a place or find a commune with room

There are ways to not build the house yourself

It simply requires utilizing the community

Not really, getting to specific on the anarchist day-to-day can be tricky as I only can speak for my own perspective and not anarchists as a whole, but I enjoy the idea that a syndicate can be formed to build homes for the commune and the members of that syndicate volunteer, are rewarded with benefits by the commune (as decided by the commune via democratic vote), and are skilled and proficient.

Like I said though these specifics will always be debatable until full realization

There is much reason to believe they would act for the commune

Betterment of the commune and community can help him

If everything else is supplied by the commune, surely a man may act solely for the commune

As acting for the commune is acting for himself

Once the commune stops supplying him in totality, then the man can act more for himself

So imagine Bill is working as part of a one-man syndicate created by a democratic vote of the entire community of Anarchyville commune. Bill volunteered and works alone and is solely tasked with monitoring cyber security of the Anarchyville website. He does not generate anything for himself such as food, entertainment, art, materials, etc. He commits his labor solely for the commune and is thus fully rewarded by the commune. Bill has an overstocked fridge. If a vote is past that removes Bill form his post or for some other reason Bill no longer perform, he can do some other work. Producing food, entertainment, art, materials, etc. These things he can keep for himself and own some of his own production. He may lose out on an overstocked frdige, but still have a good one and will have units of his own production at his disposal for trade (i.e. Bill writes songs and is gifted food or other things; Bill produces clothing and can keep the clothes he makes as surplus). Basically, every worker is entitled to the fruits of their labor unless they are working for something for the commune as a whole. When they work for the commune as a whole they are reimbursed with extra things such as food.

As always, the exactness of this illustration is debatable upon submission of better alternative

I would state this is a problem of communication

If all parties are communicating and explaining how things should be done democratically Bill won't work extra hard

All parties will find a fair percentage of work and any addendums to the pay can be sorted out within the Syndicate

For instance, Bill, Tom, Dan, Kyle, and Freddy all work together and have made a schedule that reflects the work they can do and will do

If for instance, Tom becomes sick and needs time off but doesn't want to lose food he can talk to his syndicate mates and have everything worked out by communication

Communication is key

Why would they demand more rewards when they can simply ask the rest of the syndicate? If Bill and Tom ask Dan and Kyle for more of their food, it would be up to Dan and Kyle. If no resolution can be reached, they can bring their dispute to a communal court and ask for advice from the commune. Advice does not need to be followed, but ignoring the commune's advice may weigh against a person should they ever be up against an expulsion vote. Ultimately, the situation is handled democratically a bit more problematic when there are four people but still.

Plus it should be stated that a lot of people should be encouraged to make thier own food

If the farmer makes it for the commune, the commune would distribute it

And they can trade their work for other people's food

There is no currency, currency is fiat, it has no inherent value

The Farmer's options are keeping the food for himself, giving it to the commune, gifting it to others.

There may be others I can't think of right now but still

At that point he isn't really working for the commune, if he doesn't want to work with the commune he doesn't have too.

If he just wants to make food he can do that form himself, if he wants to gift it he can, if he wants to donate it to the commune he can

He only has to work as much as he wants

This is why farming for yourself and making your own food is important

Urban farming and practical solutions to farmer dependency is a good step to take

The commune by the way is a city/town/village not a nation

The anarchist system of bakunin has a commune, regional commune, and national commune element

as well as the Internationale

Okay, but this can all be stopped by other people picking up the slack

In a community no one is working against one another and everyone is working for eachother

The farmer doesn't have to work extra hard because others will pick up the slack to begin with so he won't make 60% of the food

The work can be distributed

According to a voted upon resolution by a democratic vote of the whole local commune

That's fine if he wants to but why would he want too?

For trade?

Thats fine

but once it becomes controlling it has to be anaylzed, ctiqued, and if need be fixed

Thats true, and then they can participate in a gift economy

But it will really only be trading surpluses

They don't have to give anything to the commune

Its all voluntary

For support of the commune

Markets are fine, capitalism is not

But honestly it really isn't inevitable

And Markets themselves can be regulated or even abolished depending on a commune vote

Not really, they would just provide to the commune or keep for themselves

Collectivized job sites also kind of form their own commune

Why would who do what?

And other people who are a part of the commune would pick it up

and eliminating markets is just meaning the gift economy

though it would probably follow from the abolition of currency

Cause they don't want to starve?

Why do they get frustrated?

Then they don't have to work that hard

Then society will give it, but no hierarchy will be created to give power to them

Actually it expands the capacity for innovation by freeing people to fully explore their ideas risk free without fear of starvation for trying

But for farming if you don't want to work that hard then dont, tell the commune, a commune-mandated-syndicate will draft a new schedule, and the slack will be picked up elsewhere

I would posit that people who work harder, want to work harder because they take pride in their work and want to se it done to its highest potential. "I work hard and am the best because I enjoy what I do" vs "I work hard and am the best because I want more things". The latter thought makes sense in a system that rewards the behavior like capitalism, but the former is what works in an anarchist federation. Work is not a means to an end, it is an end. Work becomes something you enjoy doing, not something of a chore.

Farmers would be people who like farming, coders would be people who like coding, etc.

Volunteer-commune positions would be available for specific jobs.

The social revolution is coming

Capitalism is a dying pig
